In addition, Tesla Motors turned profitable for the first time in July 2009, when the electric car manufacturer shipped a record 109 vehicles. A surge in sales and reduced manufacturing costs of Tesla’s Roadster 2 sports car helped boost the company to $1 million in earnings and $20 million in revenue. Furthermore, the Roadster has a range of about 244 miles per charge. That’s the first production electric vehicle to cross the 200-mile mark. All according to the press release. Moreover, the Roadster is the only highway-capable electric vehicle for sale in North America or Europe. So the company says it is faster than a Porsche. I mean and twice as energy-efficient as a Toyota Prius.

Tesla Event

When I attended the Tesla event way back after Elon Musk was on the David Letterman Show. So when I saw Chris Paine and I it was cool. For Chris Paine is the Director of the movie, Who Killed The Electric Car. Also, the movie investigates the events leading to the quiet destruction of thousands of new, radically efficient electric vehicles. Through interviews and narrative, the film paints a picture of an industrial culture whose aversion to change and reliance on oil may be deeper than its ability to embrace ready solutions.”

Revenge of the Electric Car

Who Killed the Electric Car? and Chris Paine were nominated by the Writer’s Guild for Best Documentary of 2006. Plus, the film also received nominations. That’s from The Broadcast Critics Awards and The Environmental Media Awards for Best Documentary of 2006. In addition, the film won the audience award at the Canberra International Film Festival and won a special jury prize at the Mountain Film Festival. He is working on a new movie called Revenge of The Electric Car. While we couldn’t hook up for an interview in his new movie; I Know it would have been cool but whatever, it was still a pleasure to meet and talk with Chris. Source: Electrifying Times
