Henry, Miss Arkansas USA 1997, is one “crown with a conscious” who has been “walking her talk” for almost ten years, living Car-Free in auto-centric Los Angeles since 2001, and hosting the local TV show “Metro Motion” for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to teach the rest of us how it’s done. 2011 marks one solid decade Henry has been living Car-Free.

1) What got you into the green movement?

I was born one-quarter Cherokee and grew up at the end of a gravel road in the woods in The Natural State — Arkansas. They still have clean airand they still drink the tap water. When I moved to Little Rock, I lived and boated on the Arkansas River, now I live on the ocean in Venice Beach, I’ve always been attracted to the water and its magical powers.

2) Why are you so interested in covering events and promoting green at the same time?

Mother Earth needs us to clean up our act!

3) How did you get into the video/interview business?

I initially was pre-med in college because I was interested in health and wellness. I won awards for a community service program I created called “Preventive Health through Whole Person Wellness” in the Miss Arkansas Pageant system, where I competed and earned scholarship money. I got my Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism and was hired to be the evening news anchor for a WB station in Little Rock while I was still wearing my crown.

4) Where do you think the green movement is heading?
I believe the green movement is being directed by Mother Earth herself.  Those of us who are tuned in to her are feeling the call to help others wake up and tune in to the loving. Green is the color of the heart chakra.

5) Who inspires you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of the interview for a Green Tamara show?

My mission statement has been simply to combine spirituality with entertainment. I had my own talk show from 2006-2008 and when it ended, I started GreenTwithTamara.TV with Emmy winning TV professional Kevin Carr of Access Hollywood. The Universe continues to support me and I am
grateful.

6) What do you envision your show to be in the next 1-5 years?

I envision my show to have  evolved into something that will support my main mission which is to combine entertainment with spirituality. I see a talk show in the horizon because there are so many fantastic guests to have on the show. One awesome guest was YOU, The Green Living Guy: http://www.youtube.com/greentwithtamara#p/u/2/nI__TMIiRiM

7) As a guy I have to ask: what do you do to keep that bod?

I’ve been rollerblading. I placed 6th in swimsuit in the Miss USA Pageant.  It’s 90 percent about what you eat. My new years resolution is to lose ten pounds by the Night of 100 Stars, in just 60 days.

8) For the guys out there: are ya taken?

I have just not found mister right yet and I’m not really in a hurry, maybe I’ve just given up on finding him. I think I have some great men in my life. It’s all because I have a great Dad. He won the Bronze Star and was at the Pentagon when I was born.
