Bright Idea Shops is now offering restoration services for metal and wood features such as benches, signs, and waste receptacles. “By taking advantage of our restoration services facility managers of municipalities, parks, historic areas, and cities can save between 40 to 70 percent of the cost of replacement,” says Alan Robbins, owner of Bright Idea Shops. “We restore most metal pieces to look like new without the costly price tag, saving our clients thousands of dollars.”

“The option of restoration was extremely valuable to the City of Ravenna,” says Dave Merleno, public service director for the City of Ravenna in Ohio. “When you have a dilapidated piece of equipment restored to like new condition for one-third of the price, you can’t ask for more.” In addition to the savings, opting for restoration allows facility managers to keep visual continuity throughout the features.

Restoration begins by removing the piece from the location and bringing it in house. The paint is removed via baking or chemical bath, rust is sandblasted away, and a rust inhibitor is applied. Using a state of the art powder coating process, the color and finish is applied to the piece and baked on. “We offer high-gloss or satin finishes in a rainbow of colors,” says Robbins who has matched specific colors for well known clients such as Applebee’s restaurant chain. “Restoration is an affordable and lasting solution.”

Bright Idea Shops is offering restoration services throughout North America.
