How Green Is Your Pet? A Lot To Say wants to know!

To submit an entry into the “How Green Is Your Pet?” contest you will need to use the fizwoz mobile phone application.

If you do not currently have our app on your phone please click on an image below to download it from the app store for your phone manufacturer. Alternatively, search for “fizwoz Mobile” from within the app store on your phone.

After downloading the app, create an account (simply enter your name, email address and home country) and after choosing the image you want to submit, select “How Green Is Your Pet” from the Contests category.

WHAT TO ENTER: A photograph that best captures the Green Pet theme. Photos should include both pets and an environmentally friendly element. Creativity is strongly encouraged.

All Entries must be suitable for family viewing.

Entries that best depict the spirit of the contest may be chosen to appear in a special fizwoz Gallery. These entries will be marked with a fizwoz emblem and may appear on web sites and promotional material owned by fizwoz, Inc.

At the end of the contest, all entries will be transferred into the fizwoz auction where their future use will be governed by the fizwoz copyright transfer agreement. Exceptions to this include, but are not limited to, category winners and any entry selected for inclusion into the fizwoz Gallery.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase is necessary to enter and  the “Join” or “Register” links are on http://www.fizwoz.com. Using the fizwoz application, Contestants will upload a photograph or video taken on their camera phones. Once the Contestant’s submission is approved by the contest sponsor, each contestant will be encouraged to ask their friends and family to vote for their image on the sponsors Facebook fan page. Contest winners will be determined solely by the results of the popular vote.

WHAT CAN YOU WIN: Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Creativity Prize: One (1) A Lot To Say Pet Collar $29 to the entry judged most creative by A Lot To Say. Prize will be mailed to winner.

TOTAL ARV OF ALL PRIZES IN THE CONTEST IS: $279

Contest results will be based on a crowd-sourced voting mechanism conducted through the A Lot To Say Facebook Fan page located at www.facebook.com/alottosay. Page visitors will be required to register with the fizwoz SocialEyes Facebook application. Registered application users can vote for as many images or videos that they want to in the contest, however they can only vote once for each image or video per day

The contest winners are those entries that receive the most votes over the time period of the contest. In the event of a tie for the overall winner, the contest sponsor will pick a winner which in their opinion best captures the theme of the contest. The sponsor’s decision is final.

The use of automatic voting systems, widgets or bots of any kind is NOT allowed in the contest.

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. Available through May 5 at charitybuzz.com/auctions/NYRPEarthDay, the Restore New York City, Restore the Earth Auction offers bidders the chance to spend the day with the organization’s founder, Bette Midler or act as a muse for a custom painting by renowned artist, Ryan Paul Simmons. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
