## Toyota (TMC) announced they have finally sold more than 3 million hybrid electric cars globally.

In 1997, Toyota launched the “Coaster Hybrid EV” in Japan, marking a major milestone
in TMC Hybrid Vehicles. Shortly after, they unveiled the groundbreaking “Prius.”
This innovative vehicle became a symbol of eco-friendliness and efficiency. It pioneered
the hybrid vehicle segment. As a result, it captured the attention of environmentally
conscious consumers worldwide. Next, in 2003, [Toyota introduced the second-generation Prius](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/05/ventower-doubling-workforce-order-books-full-2/).
This iteration came with numerous enhancements in design and performance.

Notably, it offered improved fuel efficiency. Furthermore, it expanded the use of
TMC’s advanced hybrid system. This included diverse vehicle types like minivans,
SUVs, rear-wheel-drive sedans, and hatchbacks. Consequently, this showcased Toyota’s
commitment to sustainable mobility solutions, particularly in TMC’s development
of hybrid vehicles. Ultimately, the diversification of hybrid technology solidified
Toyota’s leadership in the automotive industry. It also paved the way for the widespread
acceptance of hybrid vehicles in the marketplace.

The third-generation Prius launched in May 2009. It featured an innovative design
that prioritized fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability. By the end of
August 09, global sales surpassed 2 million. This increase highlighted the rising
demand for hybrid vehicles.

Consumers also grew more environmentally conscious. The surge in sales marked a
major milestone for Toyota. It solidified the Prius’s status as a leader in the
hybrid market. Additionally, it showcased the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly
technology. With improved performance and advanced features, the third-generation
Prius attracted both loyal customers and new buyers. They sought an environmentally
