In an event designed to bring distributors and team members together to support the International Sales Division, an International Distributor Training Event was hosted by APV Engineered Coatings® in Akron, Ohio, in late-May. The event was held at the APV facility and included new and existing distributors from around the world.
“This event was, in my opinion, a huge success,” said Thomas Venarge, president of APV Engineered Coatings. “Looking back to the start of our international sales efforts, it’s incredible to see the market share progress and expansion on a global scale. This level of growth would not have been possible without the outstanding relationships developed with our distributors and agents.”
During the event, attendees saw product applications and demonstrations, plus toured new additions to the 150,000-square-foot APV facility. Guest speakers included John Frechette from Zyvex Corporation, who spoke on Nanotechnology, and Jerry Petersheim from Arkema Inc., who discussed Kynar® resin technology. For a complete “taste of Ohio”, APV team members took the distributors to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and gifted them with the book Wheels of Fortune- The Story of Rubber in Akron by Steve Love and David Giffels.
Attending company feedback was positive, and the APV team members plan to recreate the event again in the future. With 10 percent of sales attributed to the International Sales Division, the company plans to continue a global focus in order to maximize tremendous growth opportunities available around the world.
Representatives from the following companies and countries attended the event: Aleusa (Brazil); Alvaro Alvarez Rep. Cia, Ltda. (Ecuador); Comercial Conte S.A.C. (Peru); Evermore Trading (China/Taiwan); Instalek (South Africa); Isogran (Germany); Jebsen & Jesson Chemicals (Indonesia); Kay-Zee Inc. (USA); and United Rubber Corp. (Mexico).
