## South Wales Police Go Green with Verismic Power Manager

South Wales Police just made a powerful move for energy efficiency. They’ve selected
Verismic Power Manager as their official PC power management solution — a choice
that’s expected to cut energy costs while boosting sustainability.

## Greener IT, Smarter Savings

Managing thousands of computers isn’t easy — or cheap. That’s why the force needed
a tool that could reduce unnecessary energy use without disrupting operations. [Verismic](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/06/verismic-power-manager-v3-1-a-game-changer/)

AI

This cloud-based software allows IT managers to control energy settings across an
entire network of PCs. From setting shutdown schedules to tracking energy consumption,
the platform offers full visibility and control. As a result, South Wales Police
can now manage their energy footprint in real-time.

### A Win for the Environment and Taxpayers

By switching to Verismic Energy, the department reduces its carbon emissions. At
the same time, it saves public money by slashing energy bills. That’s a win-win.
With fewer idle computers wasting electricity, they expect significant savings —
both financial and environmental.

In fact, early estimates show they’ll recover the solution’s cost in a matter of
months. Furthermore, these savings continue year after year, compounding the return
on investment.

### Easy Deployment, Lasting Impact

Unlike traditional software installations, [Verismic Power Manager](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/02/toyotas-green-initiatives-in-the-automotive-industry/)
runs in the cloud. That means no expensive infrastructure upgrades. The rollout
process was quick, and users didn’t experience interruptions.

Better still, the software scales easily. Whether managing a few hundred PCs or
tens of thousands, the solution adapts without added complexity. That’s crucial
for public service organizations with limited IT resources.

### Leading by Example

By adopting this technology, South Wales Police set an example for other public
agencies. They’re proving that sustainability and public service go hand in hand.
Moreover, they’re showing how simple software changes can lead to real-world environmental
results.

Technology like Verismic’s makes green IT not just possible — but practical. As
more government departments follow suit, the collective impact will grow.

South Wales Police are doing more than enforcing the law — they’re enforcing change.
Their decision to use Verismic Power Manager proves that public institutions can
lead in sustainability, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.
