Charging Stations – State by State Report by EVA News

Recently, I attended a business seminar in Concord NH at the Grappone Conference Center.  To my surprise – when I stepped outside, I saw this charging station at the adjacent Marriott.  I was surprised!  This is the only public charging station in NH!

Looking at the states revealed: 
 

The Fuel Act sponsored by Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) wants to authorize $2 billion to selected communities for more charging facilities and incentives to deploy 400,000 EVs. 

This makes me wonder how often these charging stations are used. 

I remember in 1991 when my Dodge Ram 50 ran out of energy.  My solution was to stop at a house and ask to plug in for a short time.  The homeowner said they were pleased to help.

Anyway, hope this helps you in your EV travels.
 
Help Locate Maine Charging Stations  

Wayne Krauth  of the Portland Council of Governments is  looking to roll out public charging stations to help promote interest in and adoption of electric vehicles.

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
