The 2011 Sustainability Fair will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the CUB junior ballroom at Washington State University.

It will highlight WSU operations and accomplishments toward sustainability, including efforts by WSU Dining Services, which will serve food at the fair.

Sustainability can be defined as using methods, systems and materials that won’t deplete resources or harm natural cycles. The goal is to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

Local and national green (environmentally friendly) product/service providers will have displays, including Mia Birk, author of “Joyride: Pedaling Toward A Healthier Planet,” and Peter Byck, director of the documentary film “Carbon Nation.”

The fair is organized by the ASWSU Environmental Task Force, the Environmental Science Club, students from ES/RP 490/590 (a special topics class) and faculty and staff.
