This year’s Black Friday proved to be a big success for both shoppers and retail stores. Did you pick up a wireless phone or tablet on Black Friday? Looking for an environmentally friendly way to get rid of your old device? For holiday shoppers looking for a quick and easy way to recycle old devices after purchasing new ones, recycling is as easy as 1-2-3 with the Verizon Wireless Trade-In Program.

Here’s how it works – wireless users simply visit the Trade-In Program online, determine the value of their devices and receive a Verizon Wireless gift card in return. The program accepts any devices from all carriers, including wireless phones and tablets. Gift cards arrive within two weeks of receipt of the device and can be used towards the purchase of phones and accessories, or to pay Verizon Wireless bills. Devices that have no appraised value can still be sent in and will be recycled properly through HopeLine® from Verizon, Verizon Wireless’ long-running recycling program which supports victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Thanks to our customers’ efforts, since the online Trade-In Program’s launch in Sept. 2010, we’ve recycled and reused half a million used phones and tablets and kept 70 tons of electronic waste out of landfills.

This holiday season, give back to the environment while receiving a gift card for your old devices and enjoying your new ones! For more information on the Verizon Wireless Trade-In Program, and to trade-in your no-longer-used device, visit: www.trade-in.vzw.com.
