## Contrary to “Common Wisdom,” Fossil Fuels Are Not the Cheaper Route for Nation’s Future.

### Groundbreaking Synapse Energy Economics Study.

### Benefits of Ending “Business As Usual” with Clean Energy

Let’s talk about this clean energy report. Because they make clear that it’s a myth
to some that switching to safe, renewable energy would mean an unreliable U.S. power
supply. Additionally, it is believed to be too expensive to afford.

These conclusions are part of a new Synapse Energy Economics report. It was prepared
for the nonprofit Civil Society Institute. The report details a future with more
energy efficiency and [renewable ](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/08/stronger-quarter-for-clean-energy-investment-solar-thermal-projects-attract-billions-of-dollars/)
energy. More importantly, it includes less reliance on coal and nuclear power.

For the report by the Civil Society Institute even reports that the U.S. could achieve
over $80 billion in lower energy costs. Essentially by focusing on safer, renewable
energy.

The report emphasizes that embracing renewable energy sources will not only enhance
[energy independence](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/02/epa-proposes-2013-increased-renewable-fuel-standards/).
It will also create numerous job opportunities across various sectors. As technology
in solar, wind, and other renewable industries continues to advance, costs are expected
to decline further. This makes clean energy solutions increasingly affordable for
both consumers and businesses.

### Clean Energy Report Infrastructure

Furthermore, transitioning to a cleaner energy infrastructure is projected to significantly
improve public health, not only by reducing air and water pollution but also by
decreasing the incidence of respiratory diseases, heart conditions, and various
health-related issues that arise from fossil fuel consumption. As cleaner [energy sources such as wind](https://greenlivingguy.com/2017/02/renewable-energy-sources-5-emerging-watch-out-for/),
solar, and hydroelectric power are increasingly adopted, communities will experience
clearer skies and safer drinking water. This holistic approach to [energy will ultimately foster a more sustainable](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/03/echofirst-solar-energy-system-gets-green-lighting-on-the-situation-for-good-green-living/)
and resilient economy for future generations, ensuring that they inherit not only
a healthier planet but also one that thrives with green jobs, innovation, and a
stable climate that supports diverse ecosystems.

Titled “Toward a Sustainable Future for the U.S. Power Sector: Beyond Business as
Usual 2011” report outlines a realistic transition to a cleaner energy future. One
that would result in a net savings of $83 billion over the next 40 years.

### Major Benefits

The Synapse report also details other major benefits. These include the avoidance
of tens of thousands of premature deaths due to pollution. Moreover, it includes
the creation of hundreds of thousands of new jobs. Especially sharp [cuts in carbon pollution](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/06/epa-proposes-first-guidelines-to-cut-carbon-pollution-from-existing-power-plants/)
are also emphasized. Furthermore, there are significant cuts in water consumption
for power production.

The new Synapse report findings for CSI are particularly significant. They shed
light on the growing concerns surrounding [climate change](https://greenlivingguy.com/2021/11/boosting-energy-efficiency-tips-for-saving-power-at-home/)
and the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions. Especially in view of the
fact that a strong majority of Americans want the U.S. to be a clean energy leader
on a [global basis](https://greenlivingguy.com/2015/03/major-new-yorkshire-wind-farm-could-power-2-million-homes/).
Therefore, there is a palpable sense of responsibility.

Many citizens recognize that leading in [clean energy technology benefits the environment](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/06/in-todays-real-estate-market-energy-efficient-homes-are-a-must-have/).
It creates new jobs. It boosts the economy through innovation. This desire for clean
energy leadership shows a broader understanding. Transitioning to renewable sources
is essential for future generations. It ensures the planet can sustain its resources.
It provides a healthier living environment.

For more than three in four Americans (77 percent). That’s including 65 percent
of Republicans. Also 75 percent of Independents, 88 percent of Democrats, and 56
percent of Tea Party members. For they all agree with the following statement.

## Clean Energy Report U.S. Determinations

The U.S. needs to be a clean energy technology leader, not only for the sake of
environmental sustainability but also to stimulate economic growth and job creation
in the rapidly evolving energy sector. It should invest in the research and domestic
manufacturing of wind, solar, and energy efficiency technologies, ensuring that
these industries thrive within its borders. By developing innovative solutions and
fostering a skilled workforce, the U.S. can reduce its reliance on fossil fuels
while creating a competitive marketplace that attracts both domestic and international
investment. Additionally, prioritizing clean energy can lead to significant reductions
in greenhouse gas emissions, helping to combat climate change and promoting a healthier
future for all citizens.
