EV charging services now available in workplace and retail locations in San Francisco, Oakland, and Walnut Creek

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. and SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 30, 2012

Car Charging Group, Inc. (OTCBB: CCGI) today announced the inauguration of electric vehicle (EV) charging services at six properties managed by Ace Parking in San Francisco, Oakland, and Walnut Creek, California. CarCharging is currently accelerating its deployment of workplace charging services in visible, convenient and accessible locations for EV drivers. These new EV charging services are also located near popular high traffic retail sites, including Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

“The locations we selected for new EV charging stations are frequented by customers who are environmentally aware and seek out Ace Parking locations while at work, shopping, and entertainment locales in the Bay Area,” said Jonathan Wicks, Ace Parking director of operations in Northern California. “We pride ourselves on our green initiatives and we’re pleased to work with Car Charging Group as we continue to push the envelope as a very environmentally-friendly company.”

“Working with Ace Parking, we’ve established a definitive presence for EV charging services in high traffic locations in San Francisco, Oakland and Walnut Creek,” said Michael D. Farkas, CEO of CarCharging. “We’re happy to partner with Ace Parking to deploy our services and to reinforce their environmentally-friendly efforts. We share in a similar mission to attract and retain customers who are conscious about the environment.”

At each Ace Parking location, CarCharging’s service utilizes a Coulomb Technologies EV fast charging station, known as Level II, which provides 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly refuel an electric vehicle’s battery. The EV charging stations utilize the standard SAE J1772™ connector widely adopted by nearly all automobile manufacturers.

EV drivers can easily register and create a CarCharging account online, and attach a small card to their keychain to initiate use and payment at any intelligent CarCharging station. The CarCharging keychain card also allows drivers to use charging locations on the ChargePoint® Network, the largest national online network connecting EV drivers to EV charging stations. Car Charging also accepts direct payment via credit card.

Users can pinpoint EV charging station locations using the CarCharging map at http://www.carcharging.com/.

The ChargePoint® mobile application for the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry phones also provides real-time charging station location information with turn-by-turn directions.  Drivers will soon be able to reserve a time slot, guaranteeing access to EV charging stations to recharge their electric vehicle.

Electric vehicles already on the market include the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, BMW ActiveE, Ford Focus Electric, Coda, and Fisker Karma. Additional electric vehicle models are expected to be available later this year.
