## Green Storage Show

What a green storage show.  Never in a million years would I think a show about
storage auctions could be so amazing. It’s edgy and also really bringing going green
to the masses.  Yet, it made sense one day while watching the show.

_For those that don’t know, the show Storage Wars _is a cable [TV](https://greenlivingguy.com/2023/03/weather-channel-connecting-green/)
reality show on A&E Network. One which stands for Arts and Entertainment.  It started
in 2010 and shows auctioneers [Dan Dotson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Dotson)
and Laura Dotson, as well as auction hunters Dave Hester, Darrell Sheets, Barry
Weiss, and the team of Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante. The premise is:

### Storage Unit sells Repurposing

_When rent is not paid on a [storage unit](https://www.storage-mart.com/) for three
months in [California](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California), the contents are
sold by an [auctioneer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auctioneer) as a single lot
of items. The show follows professional buyers who purchase the contents based only
on a five-minute inspection of what they can see from the door when it is opened.
The goal is to turn a profit on the merchandise.  _

#### Green Storage Show is Repurposing

So by default they take something old and resell it for more money.  That something
wasn’t brand new or made new.  It was reused.

As we explore what we can do green this Earth Week (and like for me the year and
beyond).  I just improve a little more every day.  Today’s thing to realize is that
when repurposing is looked at a little differently, we can bring green to the masses.

### Auctioneering Green??

Hey, I am not saying auctioneering is green.  No.  However, in my opinion, the auctioneering
of products left in a storage unit is green, eco-friendly and repurposing.

[Repurposing](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/03/exploring-the-kevin-bacon-show-the-following/)
in my view of green business is totally a profitable venture for people; ok don’t
be like a junk yard; but the idea of taking storage items that will not be used
and not moving them to a landfill is GREEN!

twist, perfectly illustrating the article's theme. In the foreground, we see a group
of eager bidders gathered around an open storage unit. Instead of the usual clutter,
this unit is filled with an array of green living items. Solar panels lean against
the unit's walls, symbolizing renewable energy. Recycling bins in various colors
stand ready for use, emphasizing waste reduction. Energy-efficient appliances like
LED light bulbs and a smart thermostat are visible, showcasing how everyday items
can be environmentally friendly. The bidders themselves contribute to the green
theme. Some hold reusable shopping bags, a nod to reducing plastic waste. Their
expressions range from curiosity to excitement, capturing the thrill of the auction
experience. A bright "Green Storage Auction" sign hangs prominently in the background,
tying the scene directly to the article's focus on the intersection of Storage Wars
and environmental consciousness. The overall atmosphere is vibrant and colorful,
reflecting the positive energy of both treasure hunting and eco-friendly living.
This image effectively brings to life the article's concept of finding value in
unexpected places while promoting sustainable practices. It showcases how the popular
TV show "Storage Wars" can unexpectedly become a platform for green living awareness,
turning the thrill of the hunt into an opportunity for environmental education.](
