Sierra Club is running a celebrity charity auction on eBay That’s to celebrate this special month!

One item they just added was a green nursery e-makeover with Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan. That’s plus $300 toward natural and eco-friendly baby products. All from The Honest Company! Bam!

So The Sierra Club is the largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. For they announced an exciting new opportunity.

One to keep millions of perfectly good items from going to waste.

For it’s part of the GET OUT campaign for Earth Month. That’s through April 28 people. So people can bid on items and experiences donated by celebrity supporters. That’s available exclusively on  eBay, the world’s largest online marketplace and a leading platform for charitable giving.  All proceeds support The Sierra Club Foundation. For that is a public charity. One dedicated to raising awareness and providing financial support. Especially to the Sierra Club’s charitable environmental programs and grassroots campaigns in support of its mission to “Explore, Enjoy and Protect the Planet.”

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. Available through May 5 at charitybuzz.com/auctions/NYRPEarthDay, the Restore New York City, Restore the Earth Auction offers bidders the chance to spend the day with the organization’s founder, Bette Midler or act as a muse for a custom painting by renowned artist, Ryan Paul Simmons. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
