OnForce Solar awarded $6 million More than usual by NYSERDA as Solar Installations for the Company Continue to Increase

NEW YORK, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Charles Feit, CEO and founder of OnForce Solar, Inc., a leader in the design, finance, and installation of large-scale solar electric systems for commercial customers, announced that the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) recently awarded the company an additional $6 million to develop and construct large-scale solar projects in New York State under Governor Cuomo’s NY-Sun initiative. With this newest round of funding, OnForce has been awarded more funds than any other company nationally under this very competitive award program.

With projects from Niagara Falls to Staten Island, OnForce is the clear leader in New York State Solar development. OnForce is in the final stages of launching a 1.1MW project in the South Bronx which will be the largest solar array ever constructed in New York City.

Mr. Feit stated, “Thanks to the strong support of Governor Cuomo and the NY-Sun Initiative, we have over $40 million of solar energy projects under various stages of development, permitting and construction throughout the state, and we project this number will double to $80 million by the 1st quarter of 2014 “.

In addition to the South Bronx project, OnForce is about to break ground on a 2.5MW project at the West Nyack Landfill under a Power Purchase Agreement with the town of Clarkstown. The project will consist of more than 8,000 solar panels and will operate through a new remote net metering program with Orange & Rockland. The power will be allocated to various city owned buildings. OnForce will own and operate the solar facility, and The Town of Clarkstown will purchase all of the solar generated electricity over a period of 20 years. OnForce is developing additional solar on landfill projects throughout the country based on this unique public/private model.

OnForce is actively seeking rooftops to “rent” where the firm will install, own and operate solar systems under the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) structure, providing substantial savings to the property owner. OnForce also has many other financing alternatives and mechanisms to make this investment easy and seamless for the business/property owner. OnForce Solar is also one of a few select Companies with the ability to do large-scale solar projects in New York in coordination with NYSERDA.
