[Ford](https://www.ford.com/new-hybrids-evs/?gnav=footer-all%20vehicles)# MyEnergi pure #love ### MyEnergi Lifestyle  As written on the [Ford](https://web.archive.org/web/20160204095530/https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/01/08/charge-up-your-home--ford-motor-companys-myenergi-lifestyle-2-0-.html) website: Firstly, the MyEnergi Lifestyle is a Ford Motor Company collaboration with Eaton, Infineon, SunPower and Whirlpool.  MyEnergi will retrofit the homes of two families with energy-efficient appliances and solar panels.  In addition, and as well as a [Ford C-MAX Energi plug-in](https://greenlivingguy.com/2015/09/ford-c-max-energi-plug-in-hybrid-delivers-expected-550-mile-range-nearly-double-electric-only-range-of-prius/) hybrid vehicle. The MyEnergi program set out to demonstrate how a typical American family can significantly lower its electricity costs while limiting its impact on the environment. ### MyEnergi Lifestyle is The Green Living Guy Ford Motor Company announced the My Energi, a first-of-its-kind idea. That’s a powered vehicle with the potential to deliver the best of what a plug-in hybrid offers   This is without depending on the electric grid for fuel. ### Ford C-MAX Energi with Solar So instead of powering its battery from an electrical outlet, Ford C-MAX Energi harnesses the power of the sun with Sunpower solar. Therefore, by using Sunpower it acts like a magnifying glass. It is directing intense rays to solar panels on the vehicle roof. ### Solar to Re-Power the C-MAX Energi Thereby, resulting in a concept taking solar and re-powering the house. This is to deliver the same performance as the conventional [C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid](https://greenlivingguy.com/2017/10/test-drive-results-2017-cmax-energi-plugin-hybrid-electric-car/). Furthermore, when plugged in it draws power from the electric grid. As well, Ford C-MAX Energi gets a combined best miles per gallon equivalent in its class. Also, with EPA-estimated 108 MPGe city and 92 MPGe highway, for a combined 100 MPGe. In addition, by using renewable power from Sunpower makes Ford C-MAX Energi reduce the annual greenhouse gas emissions. ### How about Reduce it a by four metric tons?! In conclusion, added Mike Tinskey more. He added that the Ford C-MAX Energi with Sunpower shines a new light on electric transportation and renewable energy. Mike Tinskey is the Ford global director of vehicle electrification and infrastructure. He added that with Ford being an innovation leader, they want to further the public dialog. Therefore, customers will have more ways to optimize their energy use.   #### Microgrid Talk So soon?! Also and more interesting, power they can tap to keep their homes running during outages. As well, Ford is demonstrating an energy storage system from Sharp at CES for the MyEnergi program.  This is as an example of what consumers can use and store power in times of need. Simultaneously, Ford and the MyEnergi Lifestyle collaboration launched a nationwide contest.  The contest was for another lucky family to receive a MyEnergi Lifestyle home retrofit. The winners were Ben and Lindsay Sattler of Colorado. So their home was retrofitted in December, and the Sattlers got a fuel-efficient [Ford C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/04/c-max-energi-car-ford-plugin-hybrid-electric-car/) electric vehicle. #### MyEnergi Lifestyle Model Predicts 60% Energy Savings The MyEnergi Lifestyle model predicted 60 percent savings in monthly energy bills and 55 percent savings in CO2 emissions. More importantly, the families have already begun to see savings. Examples of efficiencies include: #### Berry family: More than $1,200 saved in annual fuel costs with their C-MAX Energi. Expect to save more than $300 annually from their new solar panel system; the system offsets more than 70 percent of the energy used in their home.
