This groundbreaking partnership isn’t just about recycling; it’s a beacon of hope for both the environment and the workforce. ### From Trash to Treasure DISH, the satellite TV giant, is taking a bold step. They’re handing over their obsolete receivers and [electronics](https://greenlivingguy.com/2012/01/u-s-epa-orders-worlds-largest-metals-electronics-recycler-to-immediately-cease-illegal-discharge-of-toxic-pollutants-to-san-francisco-bay/) to Reworx, a Georgia-based recycler. But here’s the kicker: Reworx isn’t your average recycling outfit. ### Breaking Barriers, One Device at a Time Reworx, an arm of the nonprofit Nobis Works, is on a mission. They’re not just breaking down electronics; they’re breaking down barriers. How? By employing individuals with disabilities and others facing employment hurdles. ### The Numbers Speak Volumes In just one year, DISH has already made a significant impact. They’ve processed over 26 million pounds of materials through their recycling program in 2012 alone. That’s equivalent to the weight of about 13,000 cars! More Than Just Recycling This partnership is a win-win-win situation. DISH reduces its environmental footprint, Reworx creates jobs, and the planet breathes a little easier. It’s not just about keeping e-waste out of landfills; it’s about creating opportunities. ### Setting the Gold Standard Reworx isn’t cutting any corners. They’re the first Georgia-based electronics recycler to snag the coveted R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) certification. This means they’re not just recycling; they’re doing it right. ## What The Green Living Guy Thinks This partnership is more than just a drop in the ocean; it’s a tidal wave of change. DISH and Reworx are proving that corporate responsibility and social good can go hand in hand. They’re not just talking the talk; they’re walking the walk. But here’s the real kicker: this model is replicable. Imagine if every major corporation followed suit. We could transform the e-waste crisis into an opportunity for social and environmental good. ### The Road Ahead As we look to the future, this partnership sets a new benchmark. It challenges other companies to step up their game. After all, in the fight against e-waste, every device counts. DISH and Reworx are showing us that when it comes to sustainability, the sky’s the limit. They’re not just changing the channel on e-waste; they’re rewriting the entire program. 1 [https://www.recyclingtoday.com/news/dish-reworx-recycle-obsolete-electronics/](https://www.recyclingtoday.com/news/dish-reworx-recycle-obsolete-electronics/) 2 [https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/dish-network-launches-electronics-recycling-program-with-reworx-300047076.html](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/dish-network-launches-electronics-recycling-program-with-reworx-300047076.html) 3[https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140313005906/en/DISH-Expands-Sustainability-Efforts-through-Partnership-with-Reworx](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140313005906/en/DISH-Expands-Sustainability-Efforts-through-Partnership-with-Reworx) Sources:[ DISH Network Corporation
