Energy Efficient Window Treatment Brings an Entirely New Aesthetic to the Market at an Affordable, Mid-Market Price Point

PEARL RIVER, N.Y., Aug. 26, 2013 – Hunter Douglas is bringing an entirely new aesthetic to the market when they launched Solera™ Soft Shades. These shades combine a nicer look with added dimension and a unique cellular construction. The cellular shape allows for increased energy efficiency and the color continues inside each cell to give the shades added depth and richness. In short, Solera is Style Simplified™.

“Solera shades appear upscale and high-end, but are priced within reach of most consumers,” said Ron Rubinoff, Vice President and General Manager of the Hunter Douglas Window Designs Division in Bessemer City, which developed the product. “They offer the best of both worlds – the energy efficiency of cellular shades with the sculpted look of a soft shade.”

The contemporary fabric collection offers woven and non-woven fabric options in fashion-forward colors, textures and patterns. The collection offers five fabric styles in 31 colors. All fabrics are available in two opacities – light-filtering for diffused light with a soft glow and room-darkening for privacy with maximum light control.

Like all Hunter Douglas branded products, Solera is designed, developed and custom-crafted in the United States. All the fabrics in the line are also woven in the United States. What’s more, Solera is backed by the Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee.
