## **New eco-innovation company is on a roll with products made from bamboo and sugarcane**

Let’s talk nimbus tissue paper. Lifelong friends Mark Samuels and Josh Askin. For
the found themselves engaged in “potty talk” as is usual. That’s especially since
founding Nimbus Eco® in 2012. With a shared vision to create a world where paper
no longer comes from trees. Therefore and in doing so, help the world’s inhabitants
lessen their impact on the environment. Finally and preserve the [planet for future generations](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/06/bamboo-a-renewable-resource/).
So the pair worked vigilantly to create a strong and soft alternative fiber paper.
After months of trial they developed a unique blend. One that combines bamboo for
its [strength](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/12/discover-the-benefits-of-using-a-bamboo-bottle/)
and also sugarcane for its softness. With the launch of their line of products,
they are on a roll.

### Extra Soft Toilet Tissue paper

Their flagship sustainable product, Nimbus Extra Soft Toilet Tissue. It is comfortable
and also durable. That’s like a premium tissue, and importantly…soft. Like a (nimbus)
cloud. Available in 330 and 550 sheet rolls as well as a jumbo version at 1,000
sheets. For the toilet tissue is sized for commercial or home use. I mean event
and venue directors are looking to cut down on waste. That’s also to hotels and
office buildings. For Nimbus are all responding to requests to be more eco-friendly.
So they are among the early adopters of the product. The tissue debuted at the [Sundance Film Festival](https://greenlivingguy.com/2010/02/sundance-green-film-festival-green-living-guy-side/)
and the stage is set for Coachella this month.

### Average Household Usage

For the average household, traditional toilet tissue alone causes 27,000 trees to
be flushed down the toilet every day or 10 million trees a year. Nimbus Extra Soft
Toilet Tissues provides consumers one of the single greatest ways to reduce their
impact on the environment. Most importantly, it’s at a comparable price. Approximately
470,000 trees could be saved each year if every person in the U.S. used just one
roll of Nimbus Extra Soft sustainable, tree-free toilet tissue instead of a traditional
roll of toilet tissue.

In addition to toilet tissue, Nimbus Eco offers a broad range of exceptional tree-
free paper products including EcoSoft Napkins, Two-Fold Hand Towels, EcoPaper Towel
Roll, Heavy Duty EcoPlate, Blue Cold Cups and an EcoToGo Container (clamshell).

### Nimbus Eco

Nimbus Eco and its products are the next evolution in environmentalism. They help
individuals lead more eco-friendly lifestyles and companies achieve customer satisfaction
and save money. That’s by offering them the opportunity to purchase products that
preserve the earth’s natural resources. That was also explained by Samuels, president
and co-founder.

Their complete range of sustainable, tree-free paper products are comparably priced.
That’s against traditional paper products as well as recycled paper products, and
products in the sustainable category. So their Nimbus Extra Soft toilet tissue is
especially competitively priced. It’s also one of the easiest and most rewarding
change businesses and individuals can make. Most especially to have a positive impact
on the earth.

### Eco innovation with Nimbus Tissue Paper

Eco-innovation is the key to Nimbus Eco’s sustainable, tree-free paper products,
which are made from a hybrid blend of bamboo and sugarcane pulp. Bamboo, one of
the fastest growing plants in the world, has a six-month life cycle from seed to
harvest versus a 10-year cycle of trees.

The sugarcane used in the manufacturing of Nimbus Eco products is called bagasse,
a fibrous throwaway by-product created by the process of extracting sugar from the
cane, which is repurposed for Nimbus Eco products. Both the bamboo and the sugarcane
are grown on farms and harvested by hand greatly reducing waste and carbon emissions.

**“We are actively working on a patented blend of tissue and paper that uses source
material grown and manufactured in America. We hope to have our new, locally sourced
and manufactured tree-free paper products available in 2015,” said Samuels. “This
will lessen our carbon footprint considerably getting us another step closer to
achieving sustainability companywide.”**

Nimbus Eco is a company that “walks the talk” and to that end donates one percent
of its net revenue to 1% For The Planet, which uses market forces to drive positive
environmental change by inspiring companies to give. “We are proud to be one of
its 1,477 members worldwide giving multi-millions of dollars annually to more than
2,000 environmental groups worldwide,” said Askin, vice-president and co-founder.
