This rapid adoption of LED has lead Ephesus engineers to estimate that by Earth Day 2016, sports and entertainment facilities will save more than 200 million kilowatts of energy. They also estimate a reduction of 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions from being released into the atmosphere. Bottom line is, LEDs offer a number of promising environmental benefits, and they are often viewed as the future of green lighting. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), LEDs eventually could reduce by 50 percent the amount of energy we use for lighting globally.
