Earth Day is the perfect time to make a commitment to reducing your plastic consumption
and recycling what you do use. Plastics are incredibly [versatile](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/10/create-energy-efficient-home-winter-with-help-of-plastics/)
materials, but unfortunately, they are not biodegradable and can be hazardous to
the environment.

This Earth Day, make a pledge to use less plastic and recycle more of it. Here are
some tips on how to do this:

## Reusable Containers

Whenever possible, use reusable containers. For that’s such as glass jars, metal
cans, and cloth bags. I mean instead of plastic bags and bottles. This will reduce
the [amount of plastic](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/07/cnbc-reports-tesla-going-sp-500-folks/)
waste you generate.

### Recycle Plastics

Make sure you’re recycling all of your plastic items, such as bottles, packaging,
and containers. This will help to reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up
in landfills or in the ocean.

### Avoid Single-Use Plastics

When possible, avoid single-use plastics such as straws, cups, and cutlery. Opt
for reusable items instead.

#### Educate Others

Share your knowledge about plastics and how to reduce plastic waste. Talk to your
friends, family, and coworkers about the importance of recycling and reducing plastic
consumption.

Let’s all do our part to reduce plastic waste and make sure it’s recycled on Earth
Day and beyond.
