# The 2016 Audubon Gala Honors Two Conservation Champions

The 2016 Conservation Audubon Gala was a success.  All for honoring two of the most
influential conservationists of our time.

The Gala, held on February 12th, recognized Paul Tudor Jones II and Pete McCloskey
Jr..  All for their outstanding contributions to conservation.

This Conservation Gala was organized by the National Audubon Society.  For it is
a [leading](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/05/audubon-invites-beach-lovers-to-help-track-banded-red-knots/)
conservation organization dedicated to protecting birds and the habitats they depend
on. The event raised more than $1 million for conservation, making it one of the
most successful fundraisers in the organization’s history.

## Honoring Paul Tudor Jones II and Pete McCloskey Jr.

Paul Tudor Jones II was recognized for his commitment to protecting birds and the
natural environment. He established the Everglades Foundation and has been a longtime
supporter of the National Audubon Society.

Pete McCloskey Jr. was honored for his tireless efforts to protect public lands 
and wildlife. He is a former U.S. Representative and has been an outspoken advocate
for conservation for decades.

### Support for Conservation

The Gala was attended by more than 400 guests, many of whom are well-known figures
in the conservation world. Guests included philanthropists, business leaders, and
celebrities who all showed their support for conservation.

The event was also a great opportunity to network and share ideas. The National 
Audubon Society used the Gala to connect with potential partners, donors, and volunteers
who can help them further their mission of protecting birds and their habitats.

### A Successful Fundraiser

The 2016 Audubon Gala was a huge success, raising more than $1 million for conservation.
The money will be used to support the National Audubon Society’s efforts to protect
birds and the habitats they depend on.

In addition, the event was a great opportunity for everyone to come together in 
support of conservation. It was also a fitting tribute to Paul Tudor Jones II and
Pete McCloskey Jr..  Especially for their lifelong commitment to protecting the
