 Staples recycling batteries

If your device has no trade-in value, Staples will still recycle it responsibly for free. Bring in your old office technology products to your local Staples and they’ll responsibly recycle them at no cost to you — any brand, any condition, even if you purchased it somewhere else.
 As before, you still can recycle your empty ink and toner cartridges online or in store and you could earn $2 back in Staples Rewards® for each one.

Alkaline batteries, non-rechargeable lithium batteries, appliances, floor model printers and copiers, kitchen electronics, lamps or bulbs, large servers, large speakers or speaker systems, smoke detectors and televisions

Terms and Limits
*Limit 7 items per customer per day. All brands of items are accepted regardless of where purchased. Store management has the right to refuse to accept items that may pose a health or safety risk (e.g., broken monitors not packed in a box, laptops with damaged batteries, etc.).

Rechargeable battery recycling

Bring your old rechargeable batteries to your local Staples for free recycling. All collected batteries are responsibly recycled by Call2Recycle.
Staples now accepts and redeems if eligible for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Lithium Ion (Li-Ion), Small Sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), and Nickel Zinc (Ni-ZN) batteries that are 11 pounds or less. We cannot accept single-use alkaline or lithium batteries or automotive/wet-cell batteries.
