July 28th, 2016 – HuffPost Originals launched Sustainable Self. It’s a ten-episode original animated series that connects the small choices we make in our everyday lives to the huge impact they have on the Earth. Each episode takes the viewer from a micro to a macro perspective. It features a simple action and demonstrates the effects that action has on the planet when multiplied.

Each episode takes the viewer from a micro to macro perspective by featuring a simple action and demonstrating the effects that action has on the planet when multiplied.The Huffington Post is partnering with Change.org to launch a Sustainable Self-movement page where viewers can create and join petitions based on the issues highlighted in each episode. HuffPost previously partnered with Change.org to launch Reclaim. Moreover, it’s an editorial campaign to highlight the scale of food waste and collaborate with HuffPost’s audience to reduce it. This newest partnership is building on that movement to make viewers aware of global social problems. Not to mention provide them with actionable ways they can contribute to the solutions.

The series premiere, “Bring Your Own,” focuses on the enormous amount of plastic we waste globally. “The waste generated from this single-use, non-biodegradable plastic products sticks around in some form for about 500 years or six human lifespans,” the episode reveals. Plastic is the party guest who refuses to leave. And this episode tells you how to kick them out for good.
