Going green can do good for more than just the planet, it’s also good for our wallets, and it’s an easier and cheaper fix than most consumers may think. With Earth Day this month, Vivint Solar has created an infographic that has 12 simple steps people can follow to save money and energy around the house.

A few of the tips include:

· Checking things like your power bill, your home’s insulation, and applicable state and federal tax credits

· Changing your laundry habits, your hot water usage, your landscaping and the seasonal temperature of your home

· Investing in things like double-pane windows, LED bulbs, a smart thermostat and energy efficient appliances or solar panels
