    IKEA helps you save over £300 a year* with renewable electricity for all

    • IKEA’s partnership with the Big Clean Switch can help customers live more sustainably and save money by switching to a 100% renewable electricity tariff

    • The partnership uses a ‘collective switch model’.
    This helps secure a great deal on renewable electricity, which could save a typical UK household over £300 a year*

    • Globally IKEA group is working towards 100% renewable energy, pledging
    to produce as much as the company consumes across its entire operations by2020
    ```
##### This partnership demonstrates the retailer’s commitment to enabling customers and co-workers to live more sustainably by switching to a renewable electricity provider.
In addition, the Big Clean Switch is a ‘profit with purpose’ company.  It helps
people to switch to renewable electricity providers.  That’s by making the process
simple and easy. The company only list tariffs. Tariffs where the supplier can guarantee
100% of the [electricity sold is green](https://greenlivingguy.com/2007/08/motorcycle-electric-zero-x-fast-silent-green/).
##### Hege Sæbjørnsen, Sustainability Manager at IKEA UK agreed.  At IKEA, their commitment is to sustainability.  This goes beyond minimizing the impact of their own operations.  It’s by having a positive impact on the world around us. We want to give our customers creative solutions.  Solutions that will help them live a more sustainable life.  A life at home and to save money in the short and long-term. By partnering with the Big Clean Switch, IKEA is switching to renewable electricity simple, accessible and affordable to everyone.
###### Last year, IKEA UK introduced home solar panels and battery storage (SOLSTRÅLE) into their product range.  This is in a bid to make solar more accessible.  More importantly to support home owners towards becoming energy independent.
Therefore, for every switch, IKEA will receive a commission payment. This payment
will support local community initiatives. At the end of the campaign the commission
will be split among IKEA UK stores. The amount each store gets depends on ones generating
the most switches.  Therefore, the money is for local community initiatives within
each store’s area.
