# Wolverine to Add Largest Solar Array in Northern Michigan  Wolverine Power

As I have written before:

Here are some numbers to contemplate. According to the[ Solar Energy Industries Association](https://greenlivingguy.com/2017/12/u-s-solar-market-notches-another-quarter-of-2-gw-growth-but-uncertainty-holds-back-installations/),
the growth in solar power generation in 2016 alone was projected to reach 119 percent.
But more importantly:

##### Energy taken from the sun has proven to be a much cheaper resource.  Also, the use of solar panels is becoming more popular and cheaper. The great thing about solar power is that it is infinitive and therefore will remain renewable. Solar power now has the capabilities to power all types of things such as radios and and mobiles, even when you are out of the home.

Wolverine’s members commitment far exceeds Michigan’s Renewable Portfolio Standards.
More importantly and in the past few years, has become Michigan’s renewable energy
leader. Wolverine alone helps Michigan double the statutory requirement for this
year. This excess has been achieved through large-scale wind projects.  However 
and most noteworthy, solar power now plays a key role in further diversification
of Wolverine’s energy portfolio.
