We need energy efficiency to save: period! In an age where energy use is high think
energy savings. Because investments in energy efficiency provides massive savings.
That’s especially [energy savings](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/04/company-launches-crowd-funding-campaign-to-provide-technology-aimed-at-helping-to-change-the-world/)
for individuals, households and businesses. So we produced this info-graphic to
highlight the amount of energy [buildings](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/06/sustainable-architecture-the-worlds-greenest-buildings/)
are currently using. As well as what they are will consume in the future.

So by taking a few simple and effective measures people can help to make buildings
more energy [savings](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/03/cox-enterprises-awarded-prestigious-leed-green-building-certification/).
Doing that therefore means energy savings is more than money. That’s because it
protects the environment.

In conclusion and in this infographic it reports that consumer [electronics](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/05/lets-really-try-to-be-green-on-electronics-use/)&
computer equipment represent 15% of global residential electricity consumption.
In fact,[ energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/08/10-largest-wind-project-development-2022/)
used by these devices is going to triple by 2030. Finally and that’s unless actions
are taken to increase energy efficiency.

I have written that [aggressive energy efficiency programs](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/07/aggressive-energy-efficiency-programs-could-save-michiganders-a-cool-13-billion/)
in Michigan homes, businesses, and industries. Because this plan expects to save
about $7 billion on their electricity and [natural gas](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/09/natural-gas-spends-big-dollars-to-convince-people-of-the-benefits-of-fracking/)
bills. More importantly that over five years.

#### Most noteworthy, expect then a whopping $13 billion over the next decade. More noteworthy, this was reporting even in 2014.

In conclusion I’ve also written Communities face a growing number of stresses. All
that pose risks to their energy systems and economies. These include aging infrastructure
in need of costly maintenance upgrades. Compounding worse add the increasing and
more interestingly severe weather events.

That’s because energy efficiency is a strategy. Now albeit not a broadly recognized
one, it enhances the resilience of energy systems. As well as the communities they
serve.

One example is the role that CHP played during Superstorm Sandy. It helped to keep
the power on at critical facilities. That’s including hospitals and universities,
when 8.5 million customers lost power.

#### Energy Efficiency

Consequently efficiency is also be key to community resilience in less obvious ways.
All including helping communities to weather economic stresses. For example, natural
gas customers in Massachusetts are paying more on their bills this winter. All because
insufficient transmission infrastructure in the state leads to congestion in the
transmission system.

So even natural gas efficiency programs would help natural gas customers. You know
folks with energy savings. Also all to avoid paying these high congestion prices.
Thereby allowing them to spend more on other potential needs. That’s again further
improving community resilience.

Great post! I like how this blog post was formatted and showing where we are the
least efficient in energy usage. It doesn’t surprise me that electrical usage is
substantially increasing and there needs to be alternative solutions to this problem
and I think I can provide some insight to become energy efficient. It is an ozone
laundry system that cleans fabrics with minimal amounts of detergent without having
to heat water. An example of these systems is the Wash It and if you want to be
a little more efficient I recommend getting one!
