# The Future of Cars in 2020 & Beyond (Infographic)

Thank you [Carsurance](http://www.carsurance.com) for the amazing infographic. However
even today I was asked what’s the future of cars. What is with gas stations. Where
will mechanics be?

Ok look. You’ll still have [TIRES](https://greenlivingguy.com/goodyear-concept-tires-offer-a-glimpse-of-the-future/)
and wheels. Alignments and balanced plus rotating tires. Let’s not forget replacing
them.

For [example](https://greenlivingguy.com/goodyear-concept-tires-offer-a-glimpse-of-the-future/)
and for starters, the first concept is named “BHO3”.

These offer the possibility of charging the batteries of electric cars. All by transforming
the heat generated by the rolling tire into electrical energy. Talk about that and

The second concept named “Triple Tube” contains three tubes that adjust tire inflation
pressure in response to changing road conditions. Thereby delivering new levels 
of performance and versatility.

[Goodyear](https://greenlivingguy.com/goodyear-unveils-oxygene-a-concept-tire-designed-to-support-cleaner-and-more-convenient-urban-mobility/)
also is considering launching

The concept, named [Oxygene](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/03/goodyear-unveils-oxygene-a-concept-tire-designed-to-support-cleaner-and-more-convenient-urban-mobility/),
has a unique structure that features living moss growing within the sidewall. This
open structure and the tire’s smart tread design absorb and circulate moisture and
water from the road surface, allowing photosynthesis to occur and therefore releasing
oxygen into the air.

According to the [World Health Organization](https://greenlivingguy.com/goodyear-unveils-oxygene-a-concept-tire-designed-to-support-cleaner-and-more-convenient-urban-mobility/)(
WHO) more than 80% of people who live in air pollution-measured urban areas exposed
to air quality levels that exceed WHO limits.[1]

“With more than two-thirds of the world population expected to live in cities by
2050, the demands on transport networks in urban environments will increase substantially,”
said Chris Delaney, President of Goodyear Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Smarter,
greener infrastructure and transport will be crucial in addressing the most pressing
challenges of urban mobility and development.”

In addition, let’s not forget Accidents.  So that’s even body shops too. Even car
painting. However I’m seeing more work on other color changes to cars with peel 
and stick on steroids on [Tesla’s](https://greenlivingguy.com/tesla-model-x-infographic/).
So just saying. But regardless: You’re not going ANYWHERE.
