First off all, energy company AGL installed these panels. That’s more than 10,300 solar panels. Can you say all across the Pernod Ricard Winemakers two Barossa Valley wineries. Most noteworthy, the Pernod Ricard Winemakers are located in South Australia. Combined with a annual electricity generation of about 4,000MW hours.

Apple Can Do It So Can You!

So if Apple can do it so can a winery. As I wrote about Apple going 100 Percent Renewable!

Apple currently has 25 operational renewable energy projects. Consequently that’s around the world. All totaling 626 megawatts of generation capacity. That’s with 286 megawatts of solar PV generation. It also has 15 more projects in construction. Once built it’ll be over 1.4 gigawatts of clean renewable energy generation. Moreover it will spread across 11 countries.

In addition, Apple’s new headquarters in Cupertino runs on 100 percent renewable energy. In part, from a 17-megawatt onsite rooftop solar installation.

Because since 2014, all of Apple’s data centers have been powered by 100 percent renewable energy. And since 2011, all of Apple’s renewable energy projects reduced greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) by 54 percent. I mean that’s from its facilities worldwide . They’ve also prevented nearly 2.1 million metric tons of CO2e from entering the atmosphere.

That’s a 2.8MW solar installation was switched on. All at its Rowland Flat winery. It’s located in the Barossa and it happened a while ago.

Most noteworthy, Pernod Ricard Winemakers is also becoming the first wine company in South Australia to go off grid. I mean to be connected to offsite wind and solar farms. They did that when it signed a landmark 10-year Virtual Generation Agreement (VGA). All for with wholesale electricity retailer Flow Power.

So the agreement means their backup power is green. In other words, the remainder of the business’ annual electricity needs are met by solar and wind.

Just for reference I do the same thing with my power.

More over these are the French company’s major Australian wine brands. That’s including Jacob’s Creek, Wyndham Estate and St Hugo.

Being sustainable and responsible is an important part of their business. That’s particularly as producers of wine. Because a product that takes its character from the land where it was grown.

In conclusion, there are other Pernod Ricard Winemakers sustainability projects. All in South Australia. They  include the restoration of Jacob’s Creek. That’s as well as recycling programs across all sites. In addition to the expansion of its Centenary Hill Vineyard Dam. A dam providing a reliable water source.

Finally, It is also partnering with South Australian company Glaciem Cooling Technology. All to install a …
