Ingolstadt, March 3, 2020 – Audi established the premium compact class segment with the A3 in 1996. Now we going E baby!!

Distinctive: design and lighting

The new Audi A3 Sportback features compact proportions and dynamic design.

In addition, the Seat upholstery is also made of recycled PET bottles. It’s adorned with stylish contrasting stitching. Consequently this stitching is being used for the first time.

As Audi wrote:

Sustainability is a central pillar in the Audi corporate strategy. This applies to technology. In addition and as well as to the production processes. So Seat upholstery is now made from secondary raw materials. All that are being used for the first time. That’s in the fourth generation of the Audi A3.

Because up to 89% of the textile used consists of recycled PET bottles. Those which are transformed into yarn. Yes in a very elaborate procedure. This also results in fabrics that guarantee the same quality standards. All in terms of look. Moreover also feel as conventional textile upholstery.

Digitalized: controls and displays

In addition, the cockpit of the A3 Sportback is wholly focused on the driver. Now equipped with a 10.1-inch touch display coming standard. Finally, the plus version also measures 12.3 inches.

Sophisticated: the e-tron

As written about the e-tron. The brand with the four rings. It now presents its first fully electric series-production model. It’s called the Audi e-tron. From 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 5.7 seconds. More noteworthy a range of over 400 kilometers (248.5 mi) in the WLTP driving cycle. In other words, zero local emissions   So the full-size SUV is powerful. It’s also efficient, sporty and practical. Combining moreover for everyday driving.

Also, its two electric motors produce up to 300 kW. For they also combine with the electric all-wheel drive. That’s to consequently deliver optimum performance on any terrain. Also a comprehensive range of charging options. That’s for at home. Plus it’s for on the go. Thereby making electric driving convenient and effortless.

Combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km (62.1 mi)*: 26.4 – 22.9 (WLTP); 24.6 – 23.7 (NEFZ)
CO2 emissions combined in g/km (g/mi): 0

Variable torque distribution: the electric all-wheel drive
The electric quattro combines the efficiency of a single-axle drive. Then with the driving dynamics and traction of an all-wheel drive. It also ensures the continuous and variable regulation. That’s of the ideal distribution of drive torque between the two axles. It also reaches a new level of variability. Moreover dynamics and precision. It takes just around 30 milliseconds. That’s from the system detecting the driving situation and the torque from the electric motors kicking in. Way much faster than with conventional quattro technology.

So the reason is that with the electric all-wheel drive a mechanical clutch. For it is not engaged. Yet electricity is simply distributed. And that takes just a fraction of a second. So even with sudden changes in the coefficients of friction. Also extreme driving situations in the full quattro performance are guaranteed.

In conclusion, presales of the new Audi A3 Sportback will start in many European countries. For they start in March 2020. That’s with the first vehicles to be delivered to customers at the beginning of May. Also, the market launch will be accompanied by a special-edition model.
