## What it Means to Be Green in the Corporate World

So the Corporate world better get greener quicker. The term “going green” can have
different meanings depending on the situation. In the corporate world, going green
is an [involved process](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/09/microsoft-sustainability-embedding-green-practices/),
requiring time, money, and research to determine the many factors that are involved.
If donations are to be made, who should they go to?

What should be donated? If changes are made in buildings, what should they be? When
green initiatives are taken with a scope as large as an entire company, the process
can be lengthy and detailed.

Luckily we several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) helping!  I mean mostly
nonprofit businesses, have popped up. Therefore offering their services to large
[companies looking to decrease their carbon footprints](https://web.archive.org/web/20151019124208/http://smallbiztrends.com/2011/12/green-business-trend-turning-to-nonprofits.html).
Here is a list of ways these companies are helping corporate giants. Thereby reduce,
reuse, and recycle.

#### **Eliminate⌊Corporate world needs to be recycling and businesses⌉ Waste

First of all, the Corporate World throws away thousands of pounds of used products
each year.  So that’s:

 1. outdated office equipment or
 2. imperfect goods
 3. old kitchen appliances.

Some non-profits offer to come and collect dumpster-bound supplies. Then they find
a new home for them. Best part no negotiating details. That’s because a business
owner can hand things over. All to a [nonprofit to also organize the donation of used goods](https://good360.org/).

#### **Reduce Carbon Footprint

There are several ways a company can join the low-carbon community. As well as the
bigger the business. I mean the bigger the effect. Most noteworthy, a nonprofit
can perform energy audits and counsel corporations on strategies to implement changes.
Some NGOs even offer free audits. Others offer also no-interest loans. That’s to
purchase more efficient equipment. In addition and also allowing companies of any
size to improve energy-efficiency. This [process is also being used to update buildings](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/08/corporate-sustainability-plans-for-employee-loyalty/).
That’s from the Empire State Building to structures in countries from Bangkok to
Mumbai.

#### **Improve Sourcing

There⌊Green seal certified⌉ are several industries that have also implemented changes.
Especially in sourcing strategies, especially to benefit the environment and their
foreign employees.

### Mine to Market

One corporations also recently introduced a jewelry line that allows customers to
trace their item’s path.

Yes folks, from mine to market.

For the customer, by reviewing every link in the supply chain. Nonprofits can also
provide companies with experts. Especially in developing these practices. Thereby
enabling them to more easily find solutions. Consequently that benefits the individuals
business.

#### **Protect Resources**

One of the best ways to protect the planet’s valuable resources is by implementing
sustainable practices. Companies can create better working conditions. Also lower
chemical use. Finally and develop reforestation practices. There are several industries
that have integrated these systems, including:

 1. Chocolate
 2. Coffee
 3. [Tea](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/10/numi-organic-tea-named-the-largest-brand-purchaser-of-fair-trade-certified-teas/)

These industry leaders have w. That’s from using more natural products to protecting
vast areas of forest.

In addition, the recent trend toward greener practices affects consumers and businesses.
That’s [through every step of the production process](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/08/corporate-sustainability-plans-for-employee-loyalty/).

In conclusion, nonprofits are playing a key role in empowering the corporate world
and small companies alike. All to find the most sustainable solutions to protect
and preserve the environment. Finally, that’s all the while improving business practices.
