Volvo magazine just published a piece on [electric trucks](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/05/volvo-trucks-will-start-selling-electric-trucks-2019/)
and the work they are doing. They are introducing the Volvo FL and LE electric trucks!

Electric trucks are about more than batteries and [charging stations](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/04/vattenfall-and-volvo-make-home-ev-charging-easier/)–
they can help improve working conditions for drivers and increase profits for transport
companies. Three Volvo Trucks experts help navigate an electric future.

Since Volvo Trucks announced that its first Volvo FL and FE electric trucks were
ready to hit the road, the response from the market has been swift.

“Customers called up saying: “Finally! We’ve been waiting for this!” says Anna Thordén,
Product Manager, Electromobility at Volvo Trucks. “Many of the customers that get
in touch with us are seeing tightening regulations where they run. Others have bought
electric vehicles from market [upstarts](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/12/nycha-electric-truck-unveiling-courtesy-of-the-new-york-power-authority/)
and found that they don’t offer enough support. So, as soon as anything happens
to their truck, they are on their own,” she says.

#### Conclusion

Volvo has just released a video of their first all-electric heavy-duty truck. The
truck is called the FE Electric, and it has a range of approximately 80 miles. That’s
a pretty impressive range for an electric truck! The truck is made for the rough
roads of Sweden, and it has a maximum payload capacity of 2,200 pounds. This is
just the start of Volvo’s commitment to electrification, and we can’t wait to see
what they have in store for us next.

The Volvo FE Electric is a perfect example of how an electric truck could change
the world. It has a very similar range to its diesel counterpart, and it can also
help reduce emissions. It may not be as fast as a diesel truck, but it is likely
to be much more efficient.
