Brands Are Going Eco-friendly - The Green Living Guy")

Several decades ago, many brands thought that the world had an infinite number of
resources. They thought the world brimmed with untapped potential. They believed
that gas, oil, plastics were improving our lives. Little did they know the environmental
damage some of these practices have done.

The constant use of these resources has left us to struggle with the fight against
carbon emissions and global warming. And that means we have to find a better, sustainable
way of life or face extinction. It means we have to find eco-friendly brands.

Now, more than ever, consumers have realized how they’re contributing to the environmental
damage. In fact, according to a survey by Statista, [45%](https://www.statista.com/statistics/1234119/consumer-interest-in-sustainable-environmental-brands/)
of consumers said they were interested in doing business with environmentally responsible
and sustainable brands. Also, 44% of consumers said they were interested in brands
that encourage the recycling of their products.

Therefore, more businesses seek to find innovative ways of promoting an [eco-friendly](https://greenlivingguy.com/green-living-consulting-services/going-green-for-businesses-energy-financing/)
environment by integrating green, eco-friendly practices into their business practices.
In this article, we’ll look at how brands are going eco-friendly. But first, it
would help to understand the reasons for going eco-friendly.

# **Going Green: How Some Brands Are Going Eco-Friendly**

These are some brands that are leading the way in [going green by adopting eco-friendly](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/06/environment-friendly-resources-green-degrees/)
measures. These brands include:

## **Abena**

Environmentally friendly products are becoming increasingly popular with consumers.
And incontinence supplies are no exception. Abena’s [adult brief](https://wellnessbriefs.com/uniquewellness)
is one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable incontinence products. The company
uses few resources to make them, but a highly effective product result. Recently,
it also introduced a compostable paper bag for its eco-friendly baby diaper. It
means that users can either discard the pack in their compost pile or recycle it
with other waste paper.

They use only forest regrowth materials in the manufacturing of the highly absorbent
core. As a result, they plant more trees than ever. By doing so, they harvest the
material using the least number of trees while being as eco-friendly as possible.
They have also dedicated themselves to using the cleanest manufacturing process
possible when manufacturing this line of supplies.

## **IBM**

Among the first companies to [embrace sustainability and eco-friendly](https://greenlivingguy.com/2007/04/eco-friendly-fashion-embracing-sustainability-in-clothing/)
practices were IBM. Since the 1960s, corporate social responsibility and the environment
have been part of [IBM’s mission statement](https://www.ibm.com/ibm/environment/information/40_Years_of_IBM_Environmental_Leadership.pdf).

report and longstanding energy-efficient data centers that have received accolades
from the European Commission. IBM’s [smart building initiative](http://www.ibm.com/smarterplanet/us/en/smarter_cities/management/#management_smarter_buildings)

and do more for a truly holistic approach.

Despite being one of the largest online marketplaces, Amazon strives to become an
eco-friendly brand as well. You’re under even more scrutiny when you run a big [company like Amazon](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/04/amazon-ecuador-oil-sold-third-to-chinese/),
as your target audience expects you to do more to make a difference.

Amazon established [a sustainability hub](https://www.aboutamazon.com/sustainability)

from Amazon’s Sustainability initiative illustrates the company’s commitment to
overcoming key challenges that hinder other [businesses from successfully implementing green](https://greenlivingguy.com/green-living-consulting-services/going-green-for-businesses-energy-financing/)

As the largest car manufacturer globally, Toyota has invented innovative ways to
reduce its overall carbon footprint by manufacturing innovative cars. An example
of these cars is the Prius model. It’s a model celebrated as the world’s first mass-
market hybrid vehicle.

The company has sold the Prius model in over 38 countries worldwide. Furthermore,
the EPA acknowledged it as having an efficient fuel consumption. In the UK, it’s
the third least carbon-emitting car. CARS24 even recognized Toyota Prius as the
eco-friendly car of 2016.

# **Conclusion**

It’s not enough to say that you’re committed to helping the environment; you’ve
got to prove it, too, the same way these brands do. Becoming one of the best sustainable
companies today means not merely saying you’re committed but proving it too.
