thrown out. For instance, you can use the water to rinse your walls.  In addition,
clean your [pocket doors](https://rustica.com/pocket-doors/). Reusing water will
[minimize](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/03/minimizing-water-usage-rachio/) your
water consumption.  Moreover you will in turn, lower your water bills.

## **Use Solar Energy**

[Solar energy is clean](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/02/nrg-solar-energy-a-shift-from-nuclear-power/),
renewable energy that harnesses sunlight to generate electricity or heat homes and
water. When thinking of ways to bring [green living means using solar power](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/09/live-green-connecticut-was-a-hit/).
Especially to provide hot water for your home. Essentially you will enjoy lower
utility bills. Since there are no monthly fees like when using [solar to generate electricity](https://greenlivingguy.com/2013/12/most-new-residential-solar-pv-projects-in-california-program-are-not-owned-by-homeowners/).
Solar-powered ovens cook food quickly and without pollution. Therefore, it’s a great
alternative to conventional ovens.

[Solar panels](https://greenlivingguy.com/2021/06/solar-energy-7-advantages-of-using-solar-panels/)
can be installed on a roof or in a yard. All you have to do is pay the initial [installation fee and then enjoy free energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/01/tesla-solar-energy-power-installed-new-roof/)
from the sun. Solar-powered street lamps are used in remote areas that don’t have
[access to national grids](https://greenlivingguy.com/2025/07/smart-grid-energy-transforming-electricity-access/).
Even though they cost more than regular street lights, these eco-friendly street
lamps can save your electric bill since they don’t require any wiring or upkeep
from [local](https://greenlivingguy.com/2021/12/7-best-eco-friendly-home-decor-ideas/)
government workers.

Solar-powered appliances such as radios and TVs are a great [green alternative. Especially to regular electric](https://greenlivingguy.com/2009/06/nissan-electric-cars-coming-to-markets-soon/)
appliances because they don’t need wiring. These devices can be used in [remote areas. Essentially areas that don’t have access](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/06/power-manager-version-v3-1-includes-wake-up-pc-functionality-using-smartphones-to-activate-desk-based-machines-for-remote-access/)
to power grids. That’s so they are very useful for people who live in these regions.
Some pocket-door manufacturers also manufacture pocket door hardware kits. So that’s
definitely including pocket door closers, track systems, and mounting hardware.
Check out which manufacturer might serve your needs the best.

too. They reduce [indoor air quality](https://greenlivingguy.com/2015/08/co2-gas-home-concentrations-health-and-safety-tips/),

cleaning [products](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/04/glass-bottles-the-rise-of-reusable-barware/)
also reduces your garbage production since you won’t throw away toxic cleaner bottles
every week.

adapters lying around. Some electronics keep drawing [power even though they are fully charged](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/01/china-wind-power-leading-the-charge-in-the-rotor-blade-market/),
so unplug these items. Using the “unplug” feature on hoover [boards is another way of turning](https://greenlivingguy.com/2009/03/terracycle-turns-circuit-boards-and-records-into-cool-coasters-picture-frames-and-clocks/)
