# Smart Solar: Building a Greener Tomorrow with Renewable Energy - Link: https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/08/smart-solar-building-a-greener-tomorrow-with-renewable-energy/ - Published: 2022-08-02T09:13:46-04:00 - Author: greenlivingguy ### **Check Out the Woman CEO Building Smart Solar Cities to Make Life Better on Earth.** _Lillian Wang Sees a Sunnier Tomorrow by Using the Power of Light_®*.* **Austin Texas (August 2022)** The latest IPCC report warns that “without immediate and deep emissions reductions across all sectors, limiting global warming to 1.5 °C is beyond reach.”[1] The group says warming above 1.5°C will cause bad stuff like not enough water less food, and oceans getting too acidic.[2] The IPCC thinks [solar power and other clean energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2025/05/ai-energy-transforming-renewable-resource-management/) can help stop these problems. Lillian Wang, who started and runs [FLEXSOLAR](https://flexsolarenergy.com/), wants to make life on Earth last longer. She’s trying to build the first Smart Solar City™. Wang’s Smart Solar City™ idea uses the sun to power all things in a city. It puts solar tech into regular [building materials](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/07/sustainable-building-materials-for-a-modern-and-eco-friendly-home/), like windows, walls, street lights, beams, roofs, and curtains. In a FlexSolar [Smart](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/05/1million-smart-energy-efficiency-project-coming-to-new-brunswick/) Solar City™ pretty much any spot the sun hits [can make electricity for the power grid](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/12/epa-recognizes-community-of-old-north-st-louis-mo-with-national-award-for-smart-growth-achievement/). This spreads out energy sources and lets everyone in the city have access to power. Wang started working in solar 13 years ago seeing the worldwide need to use [renewable energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/01/american-cities-leading-the-eco-friendly-revolution/). Her family built a [solar factory in China back](https://greenlivingguy.com/2025/12/new-jersey-backs-solar/) then. Now, FLEXSOLAR’s main [office](https://greenlivingguy.com/2021/05/simple-steps-toward-an-eco-friendly-office/) is in Austin Texas. Their factory can make enough stuff to meet the growing need for renewable [energy in cities](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/05/greenest-city-building-energy-top-7-in-usa/) all over. The FLEXSOLAR plant makes popular energy products for people who like being outside, like their folding [solar panels](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/04/more-people-in-the-uk-are-google-searching-solar-panels/). They also work on making new Smart [Solar City™ products](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/12/schletter-solar-system-production-capacity-ramped-up/). ![conedison development, solarcity](https://i0.wp.com/greenlivingguy.com/wp-content/ uploads/2011/06/05771cfe-e83c-4b00-bbba-e3dd4f08c19a-400x400.png?resize=400%2C400& ssl=1) ## Wang Wants to Make a Smart Solar City FLEXSOLAR’s Smart Solar City™ plans will help make Earth more livable as climate problems get worse. Wang says, “Earth is our home. Instead of searching space for a new planet, I want to make our planet better to live on [by helping switch](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/07/new-columbia-solar-pioneering-community-solar-in-d-c/) to solar energy. Smart Solar City™ will cut down on the pollution that’s hurting our planet. It will also give everyone on [Earth equal access to clean](https://greenlivingguy.com/2026/07/rare-earth-energy-mining-for-a-clean-energy-future/) power. To me solar energy is fair and open to all. We aim to use the Power of Light ®.” ### FLEXSOLAR does Smart Solar City Before starting FLEXSOLAR, Wang worked as a systems analyst. She knows it’s tough to build a big-picture [business](https://greenlivingguy.com/2021/09/8-ways-to-make-your-business-more-green/) as a woman. But she thinks her female point of view helps shape her huge goal. At first, she focused on raising her kids and then turned to her career later. This choice gave her a clear understanding of the need to create a planet that can last for kids in the future. FLEXSOLAR is showing off its Smart [Solar City™ ideas in projects](https://greenlivingguy.com/2023/10/ecoener-powers-up-the-dominican-republic-with-97-mw-of-solar-energy/) all over the place. They’re using their [solar](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/05/cupra-lighthouse-goes-solar-with-seat-phev/) roofs, walls, and a bunch of smart solar lights. You can buy these lights now, no matter where you are. Wang wants to team up with [people who sell stuff and build](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/06/people-and-planet-building-a-sustainable-future/) things. These folks should be into the Smart Solar City™ idea too. This way, they can make the concept real super quick. The idea of a Smart Solar City™ is pretty new. But FLEXSOLAR has a bunch of solar- powered stuff you can take with you. Their [products use the sun’s energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/11/energy-star-products-for-a-greener-holiday-season/) to bring light to places all over the world. They have things like a 40W Type-C & DC Solar Charger you can carry around, a 120W Solar Panel Kit that folds up (which works with their 1000W Power Station), a 200W Battery Charging System that looks like a briefcase, and a 320W solar kit for RVs and Vans. People who love being outside like these products. They’re looking for a whole set of power solutions that don’t hurt the [environment](https://greenlivingguy.com/2020/01/american-cities-leading-the-eco-friendly-revolution/). These [solar products](https://greenlivingguy.com/2019/08/using-portable-solar-panels-to-improve-camping-and-hiking-trips/) are a safer choice than generators that use gas or propane. #### **Launching FLEXSOLAR®** The first Smart Solar City™ product to hit the market is the FLEXSOLAR® [Clover Bionic Model](https://flexsolarenergy.com/products/clover-bionic-modeling). This device has an influence on many areas. It features spread-out [solar power generation smart outdoor lights](https://greenlivingguy.com/2024/01/commercial-solar-street-lights-illuminating-the-future/), and a system that powers itself without needing the grid. The gadget can help with video cameras. It also aids in sharing info public announcements, and keeping tabs on weather conditions. On top of that, it fits into things like enforcing traffic laws and managing traffic flow. FLEXSOLAR aims to create solar walls and roofs to bring the sun’s [energy](https://greenlivingguy.com/2026/07/plug-in-solar-panels-for-everyone-today/) to everyone. ### Conclusion Lillian Wang’s FLEXSOLAR is making life on Earth better and simpler than running off to Mars.
