Unprecedented investments in clean energy and climate change in the [Inflation Reduction Act](https://www.renewableenergyworld.com/solar/inflation-reduction-act-clean-energy-industry-cheers-monumental-passage-by-senate/)
have greatly improved the outlook for the solar industry’s [growth](https://greenlivingguy.com/2017/05/solar-farm-jv-on-1-8gw-between-vivo-power-and-iss-worth-billions/)
in the U.S. Especially following a first half to the year dampened by tariff risks.
Also, supply chain constraints as according to a new market report.

The [Solar](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/11/top-6-solar-business-opportunities/)
Energy Industries Association and Wood Mackenzie published a report that increases
their [baseline](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/02/solarwindow-announces-raynergy-tek-collaboration-pursuing-high-volume-production-of-electricity-generating-windows/)
[forecast](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/05/leonardo-dicaprio-foundation-supports-community-nonprofit-solar-projects-with-re-volv/)
for solar growth over the next five years by 40% in response to the historic law.

Moreover, the groups expect the U.S. to add 162 GW of new capacity through 2027.
That’s a 62 GW [boost](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/01/solar-panels-powering-qwest-field-event-center/)
from a previous estimate. If the projections hold up, installed [solar](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/05/solar-ceo-tackles-10-tough-objections-to-renewable-energy/)
capacity in the U.S. could reach 336 GW at that point.

“This report provides an early look at how the [Inflation Reduction Act](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/11/inflation-reduction-act-epa-is-looking-for-input-on-multiple-programs/)
is going to transform America’s energy economy. And the forecasts show a [wave](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/08/ny-green-bank-announces-37-million-solar-deal/)
of clean energy and [manufacturing](https://greenlivingguy.com/2016/02/heliatek-sets-new-organic-photovoltaic-world-record-efficiency-of-13-2/)
investments. Moreover, that will uplift [communities](https://greenlivingguy.com/2011/11/small-businesses-see-big-savings-with-solar/)
nationwide,” SEIA CEO Abigail Ross Hopper said.

## The Inflation Reduction Act Plays A Big Role in Solar

The Inflation Reduction Act provided certainty to [solar](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/04/report-addresses-barriers-to-low-income-solar-ownership-in-vermont/)
developers with a 10-year extension of the critical Investment Tax Credit. The law
also established incentives for domestic production throughout the [solar](https://greenlivingguy.com/2018/04/san-antonio-ranked-6th-in-nation-for-solar-energy/)
value chain. It includes polysilicon, [cells](https://greenlivingguy.com/2017/12/u-s-solar-market-adds-2-4-gw-in-q2-largest-second-quarter-ever/),
modules, inverters, trackers, among other things.

A flurry of announcements has followed the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act
into law.

#### Conclusion

You can get the best [solar panels in the market](https://greenlivingguy.com/2015/03/nyserda-broadens-solar-hot-water-program-to-spur-industry-growth-leading-to-self-sustaining-market/).
They can be used to generate [energy as well as save](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/01/accell-greengenius-smart-surge-protector-saves-energy/)
money. You can now attach [solar panels to the roof](https://greenlivingguy.com/2015/03/solar-panels-on-roof-by-the-time-you-read-this/)
of your house or any other place you want. However, there are different types of
solar panels in the market and choosing the right one is essential. The type of
solar panel you are interested in is dependent on your location, need and budget.
