Kia Electric just dropped a teaser for the new Kia EV9 electric SUV. Moreover,
it looks like a [larger](https://greenlivingguy.com/2022/08/the-all-electric-kia-ev9-suv-is-set-for-first-quarter-of-2023/)
and more aerodynamic version of the concept car [1]. With a lower ride, a more tapered
body, and wide tires. For the EV9 electric SUV will certainly make a statement [
2]. If the nomenclature follows a similar pattern to the concepts, the EV9 will
be the flagship electric SUV for Kia [3]. This new model is sure to be a [game-changer for the electric car market](https://greenlivingguy.com/2024/11/hyundai-ioniq-9-game-changing-the-electric-suv-market/).
Especially as it offers an exciting combination of style and performance.

rear lamps complete the EV9’s bold identity.

The video clips also preview the Kia EV9’s unique blend of sleek and sculptural

#### This Means Something

The name, EV9, comes from Kia’s EV nomenclature. For that’s pairing the prefix ‘
EV’ (electric vehicle) with the number ‘9’ (nine). All which represents the model’s
segment among [Kia’s dedicated electric vehicle](https://greenlivingguy.com/2014/04/kia-soul-electric-vehicle-set-for-2014/)
lineup.

Like the Kia EV6, the Kia EV9 is [built](https://greenlivingguy.com/2023/03/ev9-kia-electric-vehicle-launch-begins/)
upon the company’s dedicated battery electric vehicle platform. The Electric Global
Modular Platform (E-GMP).
