Kick back. CodeGreen is Caesars’ pledge to run the best, most environmentally sustainable properties that we can so that you can just relax and enjoy your stay. Octavius Tower, the 668-room tower that opened at Caesars Palace Las Vegas earlier this year, was just awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification from the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED certification, the rating system for green building, is a key part of the CodeGreen commitment. That’s because the goal is to save energy, conserve water, and reduce waste.
Achieving the Silver Certification would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our contractors, sourcing team, design, construction group and property operations staff. We are very proud of the team and look forward to installing the LEED plaque in the tower lobby for all to see.
Highlighted impacts from the newly constructed tower include:
The tower will save over 1.7 million kWh per year. All which is enough energy to power 160 homes.
The tower will save 40 percent more water than a standard building. That’s because of the low-flow fixtures throughout the property and drought-tolerant landscaping.
More than one-quarter of the building materials include recycled content. Moreover, more than three-quarters of the construction waste was diverted from landfills.
The building’s carbon footprint is lower by more than 1,000 metric tons of CO2 per year.
