LED Lighting Consulting

To continue supporting cities toward we will focus on key areas including: Global Consultation: Ongoing consultation to identify and also address remaining barriers to scale-up. We switched the High bay lighting to LED in this gym for a High School A knowledge base: Also a growing database of LED-related information and materials.New financing: Program to explore new financing models. As well as to manage the risk of investment for LED infrastructure projects. The adoption by utilities: Program to identify opportunities and supporting policies. Therefore to promote energy efficient LED lighting by utilities Off-grid lighting: Project to also explore opportunities for off-grid LED lighting solutions. That’s moreover in cities and also rural locations. Because if one of my clients can get Nine West can go LED lighting, so can you!!! If interested, please contact Seth Leitman. Strategy

OK, I’m considering solar. What are my basic options? Homeowners can also use solar technologies. Certainly for heating, cooling and water heating. That’s as well as improve efficiency and also save money. All by choosing solar energy with energy storage. In addition, technologies for heating and also cooling.

Finally, I also mean even being able to produce enough electricity to operate “off-grid”. Again, that also means to also sell the extra electricity to the utilities. Finally and depending on local programs.

There are conventional flat panels, mounted on a suitably oriented roof – or on the ground or on a pole. Unobstructed flat or south-facing roofs are ideal, but systems can be designed to accommodate a wider range.  Pole-mounted systems can be designed to track the sun, for much higher efficiency (and cost). There are also more exotic new technologies like  vented panels that are more efficient but not yet widely marketed in the Northeast. And there are roof shingles, which are good for some kinds of new construction but still expensive.

How can I figure out if my home or business is a good fit for solar?

The ideal location has south-facing orientation and exposure to the sun for most of the day – no obstructing trees, tall buildings or other structures.  You can confirm the orientation by checking Google Maps or Bing. If it isn’t ideal – but for example faces southeast and has good solar access – then discuss your specific situation with an experienced installation firm. If the roof is more than a few years old, you want to have it looked at by a good roofer and discuss any repairs or upgrades.  It is not hugely difficult to remove and re-install a solar array in the event that a roof does need repair later; but if you are replacing the roof at the same time you install your solar panels, you may be able to apply the Federal tax credit (see below) to the entire job.  Some solar installers have roofers they work with and trust. If your site is in a historic district, you will also want to consult with your local regulatory body such as a historic district commission. I mean as well as your neighbors. Often there are straightforward, reasonable guidelines that your system designer can easily meet.

What is solar energy and why go with solar power?

Let’s face it, the sun has been producing energy for billions of years. Here is the history of its

use by humanity.

(A) Solar Energy and Power

Solar energy is the light and heat from the Sun that has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range of ever-evolving technologies. Solar power technologies provide electrical generation by means of heat engines or photovoltaics. Once converted its uses are only limited by human ingenuity. A partial list of solar applications includes:

space heating and cooling through solar architecture

daylighting

hot water

thermal energy for cooking

(A) Solar Radiation

Solar radiation (along with secondary solar resources, such as, wind and wave power, hydroelectricity and biomass) account for most of the available renewable energy on Earth. Only a minuscule fraction of the available solar energy is used.

A) Solar Technologies

First of all, solar technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar. That’s depending on the way they capture, convert and distribute sunlight. So active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic panels. In addition to solar thermal collectors with electrical or mechanical equipment to convert sunlight into useful outputs. In addition, passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun. Also selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties. That’s designing spaces that naturally circulate air.

(A) Solar Energy Basics

Sunlight—through photovoltaic technology—provides this building at Oberlin College with electricity. The sun’s heat and light provide an abundant source of energy that can be harnessed in many ways. There are a variety of technologies that have been developed to take advantage of solar energy. These include concentrating solar power systems, passive solar heating and daylighting, photovoltaic systems, solar hot water, and solar process heat and space heating and cooling. Solar power can also be used in both large-scale applications. That’s as well as smaller systems for the home. In addition, businesses and industry can also diversify their energy sources. That’s as well as improve efficiency and also save money. That’s all by choosing solar energy with energy storage. In addition, technologies for heating and also cooling. Finally, industrial processes, electricity and water heating. In conclusion, homeowners can also use solar technologies. Certainly for heating, cooling and also water heating. Finally, I also mean even being able to produce enough electricity to operate “off-grid”. Again, that also means to also sell the extra electricity to the utilities.
