Yes I have said this thing about electric vehicle chargers and in my stories a lot.  Sorry!  Lately I was reading my book Build Your Own Electric Vehicle 2nd Edition and thought this passage was an interesting read for you all.   That’s all.  Enjoy.. Wait, let me explain here that the Bottom line on this post and this excerpt talks about electric current and chargers.  These are the concerns you’ll have with electric vehicle charging stations or chargers.

You can plug chargers up to 20 amps into your standard household 120-volt AC outlet.  Higher capacity chargers require a dedicated 240-volt AC Circuit-the kind that drives your household electric range or clothes dryer.

Also, three phase power is found in industry and the power grid, not in the home.  Homes are usually single-phase.  Very high-voltage power lines have six wires plus a lightning ground at the top.

AC electric cars usually use three-phase motors where the voltage and frequency must be chargers as driving conditions vary.

So, whether you have an on-board inverter, controller and battery charger for minimum parts county and maximum efficiency (current flow decides the circuit function automatically-YEAH!!).

Off-board charging gives you high power capability that turns into quicker charging times in permanent charging stations, which incorporate many additional features.  These are like the ones you have seen commercials from GE.  There are others out there but charging stations are so the way to go.  Much cheaper too..  Talk about a tax cut and national security cut to the reduction of fossil fuels.
