Green FTC Guides to Combat Greenwashing Effectively

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission finally released proposed revisions to its Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims (“Green Guides”). The Green Guides were last updated 13 years ago, long before green became the new black in marketing.

USPS Data Center Plans for Energy Reduction

All USPS OIG IT assets will be relocated to the new facility, which will be built in a scant 10 months. It will boast a new voice/data network, modular power systems and high density in-row cooling.
The chilly winter months will also provide free cooling for the facility, saving the government — and taxpayers — thousands of dollars in electrical energy costs per year.
USPS OIG has hired Compu Dynamics for the project. The mid-Atlantic-based firm will build out the new facility in two phases to avoid disruptions. Uninterruptible power systems and back-up emergency power generation will be installed to keep the facility online during a utility power outage.

“Go60MPG” Sets Record Straight As Both New York Auto Show and DC ETDA Conference Near

Auto fuel efficiency is going up and high-MPG auto sales are surging today, but a handful of persistent myths continue to cloud the understanding of some policymakers and members of the general public, according to Go60MPG, a joint effort of Environment America, the National Wildlife Federation, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Safe Climate Campaign, the Sierra Club, and the Union of Concerned Scientists.
Ahead of the New York International Auto Show being held April 22-May 1 in New York City and the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) 2011 Conference being held April 19-21 in Washington, D.C., Go60MPG is releasing the following list of five myths and facts:
