EuroMed Teams Up with Veilieux To Be Green Businesses Protecting The Everglades

Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business. In the program, every time a manufacturer purchases an order of Euromed’s saw palmetto extract to create a natural health supplement, Euromed will make a donation to the Everglades Foundation in the name of the purchasing company. The Foundation, whose mission is to preserve all the natural habitats in Florida (where nearly all of the world’s supply of saw palmetto is located), benefits not only from the donations but also from the marketing materials about the campaign that Euromed supplies to natural health manufacturers. “According to the annual USA Giving report, corporate giving, which is tied to corporate profits, increased 5.5 percent in 2009 to $14.1 billion,” Veilleux said. Not only that, but giving to environmental causes was on the way up, with $6.6 billion in donations in 2009. It’s not just about the dollars, either. Fortune Magazine just held a conference called Brainstorm Green, where they gathered top corporate figures like Virgin’s Richard Branson and some of the top environmentalists and cause-related organizations for a summit on how to make things better for both groups. The event grew by 23 percent over last year’s gathering. Public-private partnership just plain works.”

EuroMed and Veilleux: Turning Green Business Into Everglades Protection

EuroMed has partnered with Veilleux to show that commerce can directly fund conservation. Their joint program, called Glade-iator, transforms everyday product sales into measurable support for the Everglades—one of the most important and threatened ecosystems in the United States.

Whenever a manufacturer orders saw palmetto extract from EuroMed, the company donates to the Everglades Foundation. Crucially, the donation is made in the purchasing company’s name, giving them public recognition for contributing to ecosystem restoration. In addition, EuroMed provides partner businesses with educational materials that explain the cause, making it easy for companies to share their environmental impact with customers.

Blending Commerce and Conservation

This program integrates sustainable business practices directly into the sales process. Rather than asking for a separate donation, Glade-iator builds giving into the transaction itself. As a result, companies get a high-quality product while also becoming active partners in environmental protection.

Furthermore, because EuroMed equips partners with communication tools, customers learn that their purchases help fund wetlands restoration. That connection fosters brand loyalty, strengthens consumer trust, and helps businesses stand out in a competitive market.

Riding the Wave of Green Corporate Giving

The timing for Glade-iator is ideal. In 2009, corporate giving in the U.S. rose to $14.1 billion, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year. Even more impressive, environmental causes received $6.6 billion of that total. By linking sales directly to environmental action, Glade-iator taps into this upward trend in corporate philanthropy while ensuring donations are sustainable and predictable.

This built-in funding model allows the Everglades Foundation to plan large-scale projects—like habitat restoration, water filtration improvements, and wildlife protection—without worrying about one-time funding gaps.

Why the Everglades Matter

The Florida Everglades is more than a scenic wilderness. It’s a natural water filter for over eight million people, a refuge for endangered species, and a buffer against hurricanes and flooding. However, unchecked urban growth, agricultural runoff, and climate change have degraded its delicate balance.

Consistent investment is critical for restoring this ecosystem. Each Glade-iator donation supports work to preserve biodiversity, improve water quality, and protect the land for future generations.

A Model for Future Partnerships

Glade-iator is more than a single program—it’s a blueprint for how industries can align sales with sustainability. Whether the cause is tree planting, renewable energy, or green building, embedding contributions into standard business operations makes environmental action consistent, measurable, and impactful.

In addition, this kind of partnership inspires healthy competition. When one company proves that commerce can drive conservation, others often follow, multiplying the impact across entire sectors.

The Takeaway

Through Glade-iator, EuroMed and Veilleux demonstrate that sustainability can be more than a corporate buzzword. By linking every sale of saw palmetto extract to Everglades restoration, they’ve built a system where business growth fuels environmental progress.

The result? The Everglades get critical support, companies build stronger brands, and customers feel their purchases have real purpose. It’s proof that when profit and the planet align, everyone wins.
