Electric Vehicles of America, Inc. NOVEMBER 2011 News “Made in America”

Celebrating Our Pilgrim Heritage and U.S.-Made Excellence

Let’s talk American motor controllers.  For we celebrate our Pilgrim Heritage soon. Therefore, it is also a moment to recognize the suppliers who proudly carry the “Made in U.S.A.” label. Their work not only supports American jobs but also strengthens our clean transportation future. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, advancing domestic manufacturing is vital to the growth of electric vehicles.

Engineering Support from EVA on Electric Motor Controllers

At Electric Vehicles of America, we are proud to partner with these innovators and recognize the role they play in keeping jobs at home. Their commitment ensures that building and driving electric vehicles remains not only a sustainable choice but also a truly American achievement.

EVA also provides free engineering assistance to support enthusiasts and professionals alike. Our EV Primer outlines the fundamentals—horsepower, voltage, range, and more—while our technical papers cover essential topics such as “Selecting a Vehicle,” “Do It Right,” “Battery Essentials,” “Regen Thoughts,” and “EV Economics.” This knowledge base mirrors industry resources from the Electric Power Research Institute that help advance electrification. EVA also offers calculation support tailored to specific projects, a Trojan Battery User’s Guide, and troubleshooting guidance. These resources empower every EV builder to move forward with confidence.

Electric Vehicles for Sale

Beyond technical support, EVA connects buyers and sellers in the EV marketplace. Currently available are a 1925 Model T converted to electric power for $15,000 in Wisconsin, a 1993 Nissan Truck in Iowa priced at $9,000 with batteries or $7,000 without, and a Chevy S-10 in Massachusetts listed at $19,500. These vehicles stand as proof that electric mobility can be both classic and cutting-edge. The U.S. Department of Transportation has noted that preserving historic vehicles while upgrading them with clean technology plays an important role in cultural and environmental sustainability.

Sharing Knowledge and Experience

We also encourage the community to share their stories on electric motor controllers or anything else. Whether you faced a challenge or achieved success, your experiences help others on their EV journey. Contributions can be sent directly to Engineering@EVAmerica.com. This collaborative approach reflects the EV research network at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where shared experiences drive progress.
