Toshiba Launches Downlight LED Replacement Module

New product provides design flexibility and low maintenance solution
Toshiba International Corporation, November 8, 2012 – Toshiba International Corporation announced today that it is introducing the Toshiba TLS-DMT6 LED Downlight, a new six-inch downlight with a replaceable LED light module. Designed for general-purpose lighting in commercial and residential applications, Toshiba’s new downlight features multiple color temperatures, lumen outputs and trim finishes. The LED module, which provides the light source, can be changed easily without having to replace the entire downlight — making color temperature and lumen output changes easier for the likes of retailers, hoteliers, restaurateurs or homeowners. The module is a complete lighting unit comprised of an integral driver, LED array and built-in heat sink. The heat sink dissipates the heat generated by the LEDs, thus controlling the operating temperature of the LED module to provide a high level of performance and ensure a long product life.

Hudson River Dredging Removes Over 1.3 Million Cubic Yards

More Than 1.3 Million Cubic Yards of PCB-Contaminated Sediment Removed Since 2009 Dredging Start
(Fort Edward, NY – November 13, 2012) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced that as the third season of dredging draws to a close later this week, a total of more than 1.3 million cubic yards of sediment contaminated with PCBs will have been removed from the Hudson River. Since dredging began on May 9, 2012, about 650,000 cubic yards of sediment were dredged from a three-mile section of the river south of the village of Fort Edward, New York, exceeding the season goal of dredging 350,000 cubic yards. With the third season of dredging nearly complete, the EPA is almost half way toward its goal of removing 2.65 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment from a 40-mile stretch of the upper Hudson River. The dredging project also created 500 jobs and additional economic benefits for the area.
