In support of Comcast Cares Day, one of the country’s largest days of corporate volunteerism, more than 80,000 Comcast and NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners from across the globe volunteered in their local communities. On Friday, April 25th NBCUniversal, together with New York Cares, revitalized New York City’s East River Park as part of Comcast Cares Day and Green is Universal’s Earth Week.nbccomcastearthday

The event was led by home improvement expert George Oliphant, host of NBC’s George to the Rescue. Michael Jack, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47’s President and General Manager Cristina Schwarz provided opening remarks. Additional participants included talent from NBC 4 New York and Noticiero Telemundo 47.

In the video below, we hear from participants of this year’s activity at East River Park in New York City, where volunteers did everything from planting flowers to pulling weeds and painting fences.
