Over Climate Accord: India Solar Program Deemed Unlawful
Today, a WTO tribunal ruled, in a lawsuit initiated by the US. All that India’s renewable energy program most certainly breaches world trade regulations. Moreover, it encourages the establishment of regional environmentally friendly occupations.
Various US states have similar initiatives.
According to Bill Waren, the senior trade analyst at Friends of the Earth. He made the following statements:
Friends of the Earth is deeply disturbed. Moreover that vital climate policy is being determined. Especially by an international trade tribunal. India is making an understandable effort to shift from a carbon-based economy. All to a more eco-friendly one. For it had offered some incentives to local solar energy producers. In addition, the WTO’s ruling that this was a breach of international trade law. I mean is an astonishing affront. It also appears that trade law has superseded the Paris climate agreement.
According to Friends of the Earth and Reuters, a recent trade agreement has been seen to have precedence over a climate accord as the World Trade Organization (WTO) ruled against India’s solar power program. This judgment was made in spite of the fact that the program was created to reduce emissions.
In addition, the use use of technology to create a more connected world is becoming increasingly more common. It is becoming increasingly popular to use innovative methods. Especially in order to bridge the gap between people. I mean no matter the distance. This can range from social media to more sophisticated applications. All of which promote connectedness and communication.
Conclusion
A major global trade agreement, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is the product of months of negotiation between Canada and the United States, Mexico, and several other countries. The renegotiated deal is set to go into effect on November 30, 2018. For it will replace NAFTA. So I mean the existing North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The long-term goal of USMCA is to create a unified trade bloc among the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. As part of the deal, the U.S. and Canada agreed to raise the level of the North American content in the auto components produced by their respective industries to 85 percent by 2023. The new agreement also includes a decision to set fuel efficiency standards in cars that are manufactured in North America to meet the 2020 emissions standards.

As usual it’s all about big business and multinationals 😠
