DiCaprio Burning Eco-Rubber
He’s basically the poster child for the celebrity environmental movement and says he always tries “to practice what (he) preach(es).” Who are we talking about? Leonardo DiCaprio, of course!
DiCaprio still materializes on the big screen every year or so. But in his down time, the guy gets around the green scene like it’s nobody’s business.

Numerous Eco Causes
Case in point. In the last year alone, he’s backed numerous eco-causes. These include the “This Is Our Moment” video campaign, the promotion of Tesla’s zero-emission plug-in electric Roadster, and the protection of Ecuador’s Yasuni nature reserve from oil extraction.
Now, the perennial bachelor is into rubber – make that Bridgestone’s squeaky green ECOPIA EX10 tires. Apparently, he believes enough in their performance and planet-friendly qualities to star in a few Japanese-made commercials touting their benefits.
Bridgestone
Bridgestone’s new summer tire is specifically designed to complement Toyota RAV4 EV plug in models. It features a narrow tread width/shallow tread depth and tread compound that ensures low rolling resistance. Furthermore, it also has “optimized internal construction.”
For your enjoyment and eco-enlightenment, here are a few choice commercial bits. In them, Leo pimps out these green wheels while a Japanese translation steamrolls over his voice.
