Driving the Future: Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Electric Drive

Porsche doesn’t disappoint the driving enthusiast and is increasing out .
The 2011 Cayenne S Hybrid now gives consumers a sporty choice in the hybrid arena.
The Cayenne S Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds on its way to a top test track
speed of 150 mph, yet it delivers an impressive 20 mpg city/24 highway. Based on my calculations, it’s a 25% increase in fuel efficiency at year two. hmmm not bad, not bad but its base MSRP is $67,700
(excluding destination) and I don’t have that kind of cash!!

Inizio Li-ion Electric Supercar: Redefining Sustainable Speed

While I was at the International Auto Show in Detroit I ran into a buddy Leilani Munter. She was hanging out with and partnering up with the Inizio electric car.
According to their website (I didn’t take a picture, like an idiot!):
This fantastic supercar will be available in two models. The more basic model will be capable of speeds up to 170 mph and the more powerful version will be capable of speeds up to 200 mph. This luxurious sports car was first shown at the New York Auto Show and was designed by the same engineers responsible for the success of our WAVE II.

Electric Model S Tesla: Exploring the Luxury and Sustainability

Tesla Motorsgave me an inside look at the Model S when I was at the Detroit Auto Show. It showcased Tesla’s revolutionary approach to vehicle engineering. The Model S ground up Built Their OWN ELECTRIC VEHICLE and it rocks on aerodynamics, stability and handling, crash safety, performance and range.
“We’ve engineered Model S to be a great driver’s car,” says Peter Rawlinson, VP of Engineering, Tesla. “Suspension, aerodynamics, and the marriage of the battery pack to the body structure distinguish Model S as the superior vehicle of its class.”

Electric EV Energy and the THINK City Revolution

THINK also is working Tom Wood Automotive in Indianapolis to support the sale and service of THINK City electric cars in the metropolitan area.
“We are excited to be a part of the future of the auto industry, which represents green, sustainable cutting-edge technology,” said Jeff Wood, CEO of Tom Wood Automotive. “The fact that the cars are built in Indiana and are being sold as part of Project Plug-IN, makes it part of a community effort that we want to support.”

THINK city global

The First Four THINK City Electric Car Recipients Are Here!

First Off, What’s A THINK?
The THINK City is one of my favorite electric cars. Back in October 2001, I worked to place 100 of these electric cars in the NY Metropolitan area for commuters using transit or the MTA.
Durable, highly maneuverable and with low maintenance, the THINK City can travel 100 miles on a single charge, using advanced Lithium-ion batteries manufactured in Indiana by Ener1, Inc. The vehicle has accumulated more than 35 million road miles in customer experience since it was first safety certified in Europe in 1999.
THINK plans to roll out retail distribution in select U.S. cities in the second half of 2011.
