The ML450 HYBRID SUV delivers certified super-ultra-low emissions (SULEV) for the M-Class. With the hybrid electric vehicle technology, you get a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and dual electric motors for a combined 335 hp. That’s about 20% more fuel efficient than the V6-powered ML350.

According to Mercedes:

Making its West Coast debut at the L.A. Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz ML450 HYBRID uses a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine, two electric motors and sophisticated electronics to produce more than 46 percent better fuel economy than a comparable V8-powered ML550 model.

They integrate the modified automatic transmission and each magneto-electric motor dedicated to a specific purpose. One for pulling away under electric power, the other specifically for acceleration. With both electric motors, the ML450 HYBRID has a total system performance of 335 horsepower and 381 pound-feet of torque.

Whatever the season or road condition, Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC™ all-wheel drive technology can provide an extra measure of confidence and control. Fully integrated with our standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), which maximizes the system’s effectiveness in corners and in wet or slippery conditions, 4MATIC is always engaged and optimizing torque in every wheel. And to help ensure that power translates into control, 4MATIC incorporates our 4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS), an advance that monitors for the first sign of wheel slip and adjusts power delivery accordingly. By continually ensuring that power is evenly distributed among the wheels with the best grip, 4MATIC can help keep the vehicle moving and under control even if only one wheel has traction.
